How about a black and grey tall ship tattoo, even with a banner and date if you insist? That could represent travel and America I suppose.

There’s a link to the original pic a few posts earlier, and to be fair the linework in the original sketch is just as horrible as that in the tattoo. So if the OP wanted the terrible linework to match the original that was accomplished but the shading is extremely weak in the tattoo.

Go to a free font website and find the type of script you like. then research a good artist in your area that can do script and bring them the font type and your ideas and let them draw something for you. That would be the best way to go about this.

…and by the way, getting names inked is no good haha.

I would say you’re probably ok, but for me I’m always over cautious so I would still wait another week before swimming.
