Buttwheat I’m curious which shops you looked at? I think there’s at least one pretty good place not far from him, although you are definitely correct about Hope Gallery.
I’m not sure I just googled “tattoo shops Brookfield, Connecticut” I looked at the ones with working links

Are you willing to travel at all maybe an hour or two for something that is for life?
The proportion is off on the links from one to another in his attempt to show depth, the shading and saturation are poorly done I don’t think it is just your tattoo I think it is his skill level but good choice not going to the crackhead,…

I’ve been afraid to get ink on my inner bicep, there’s something I want there but I admit I’ve purposely avoided the area. Your tattoo is looking good so far, though, most of the line work is very clean.
Take it from someone who has both inner biceps done. It’s really not as bad as some make it out to be. Definitely a bit more…[Read more]

Here’s my Gil Elvgren pinup done by Shane O’Neill. The first pic is half fresh/half healed and the second is the tattoo about 3 years later. I’m due to update my other tattoos with healed pictures too. Most artists also like being sent pics of the healed work.
Love this piece and still looks awesome!

I bought some direct from the company, but I found I can get it cheaper through the tattoo shop.

For example, here’s an example of a well-done pinup…not to brag but it’s on me. (one of these days I’ll get a good, healed pic)

No just an idea he had for literal “finger waves” and just having a pointing hand guiding the ship but blending with the waves. He said he had an idea and I said go for it so it has a unique spin on a classic design. My gf doesn’t like the hand too much. Oh well.
I’ve never heard of finger waves.(although I have waved my…[Read more]

@BananaBread I was definitely worried about it not being recognizable, but at the same time, it’s not one of the most iconic images of him. Someone doesn’t necessarily have to go “ooh, Batman!” upon first look, but as long as they don’t say “that looks nothing like him” then I’m fine. I’ve toyed around with several…[Read more]

I don’t have an answer as to why but with me the reds in my tattoos have always been slower to heal and seem to scab more than other areas.[/QUOTE
I noticed with the lighter colours that my tattooist tended to be much heavier and hence scabbed a bit more, but they came out really well.
@Buttwheat: I like the idea of a wilted rose.., I will look more into designs.
You are right the rose by its self may not look right.
I was going to have a flower, with the date.
