Your friend is pretty good at coming up with ideas. Both those designs are good, but the thing about the second one is you really can’t see the star behind the bird. The first one would be your best bet. Your artist can probably incorporate the bird with the first design. I’m think having the bird just below the first design looking up at it (if…[Read more]
Fillers seem to take more time to decide than anything else lol. I finally decided on paisley fillers. I’m trying to finish up my lower arm also.
Clouds, waves, stars, smoke… I think some clouds and smoke would fit everything together with what you have. Definitely some kind of shading.
@Wardy, I remember when I was 18 I had a “don’t give a fuck” attitude. Really had nothing to do with tattoos though lol. I’m older now and actually do give a fuck lol. You’re just a kid still. 🙂
And what is with people coming on here asking what they should get for their first tattoo?
That oozing is plasma. You just probably didn’t wash it all after your first wash. Use antibacterial soap like Dial liquid. It’s normal to see a little bit of ink when you pat it dry. This is just from my experience.
Go easy on moisturizing it. Too much moisture is bad for your tattoo.
I have wondered similarly… I think I’d feel comfortable sitting down with an artist to just talk about ideas and stuff. Is it commonplace to do so? Are artists usually open to having a “meeting” to see what he/she might be able to do and suggest before making an appointment?
For the most part. They want your business.…[Read more]
I don’t understand how you managed to read that into it. You asked “how does a filled in outline fall into the same category as tribal?”, which is like asking how wetness can fall into the same category as water. I just replied that all (well, 99% of them at least) Tribals are filled outlines. That does not mean that all…[Read more]
Well the Philippines don’t have a distinctive shape, not as distinctive as that of Iceland in my opinion.
I wouldn’t recognized the Philippines from any of the thousand other island clusters in the world, whereas I’d recognize Iceland straight away. The reverse is obviously true for you. We recognize what we know. What’s…[Read more]
Naw.. in most of the civilized world, the legal system isn’t retarded like it is in the US 🙂
But how would you know? You’re in Iceland.
Not disagreeing with you, it is fucked up here lol.
People from Islands seam to have a lot of “island pride” I don’t get it. If it’s so fucking great why did you leave?
This mainly aimed at the Hawaiians around here.
For me, I was born in the Philippines while my father was stationed there. Military families move around a lot. I’m half Filipino and it’s always nice to…[Read more]
I didn’t think so either.. thinking i might do the sun/stars on my chest instead. Definitely want tricep tattoos though… just have to think up the right design
I think the sun & stars would look alright on your tricep. I don’t think I’ve seen that placed there before.
It’s really not your job to know anything about the inks, IMO. If the artist is any good, he’ll use good inks.
If a customer came into my shop and started spouting ignorance and demanding ink X in his skin, if I were using ink Y that I knew was good, I’d smack said customer silly 🙂
And said customer finds a lawyer and…[Read more]
I don’t understand these black island tattoos. They are as uncreative as can be, and will just end up looking like black malignant tumors on the skin.
Uncreative?? Really? There are way more things people get tattooed that are uncreative. Just cause you’re not from one of these islands, you shouldn’t hate on something…[Read more]
Personally i would not get one before going. I would wait until i come back then wait for around a month depending on whether you have sun burn or not.
I would wait so long because i personally find that tattoo’s look shit on tanned skin.
Wait… I have naturally tanned skin, what are you trying to say here?? Are you…[Read more]
I’ve had friends who’ve spent time in prison but don’t have spider web tattoos anywhere. Even searching on Google, from what I’ve read is that it can mean whatever you want it to mean (trapped in time, etc…). The criminal meaning seems to be old school. I’ve seen pictures of girls with a spider web on their elbow and I seriously doubt they spent…[Read more]
Did they actually cancel it? I figured there would be so much back lash from everyone that it would get cancelled
Doesn’t look like it’s on the TLC website
I thought it was a one time show.
I saw it too the night it aired and didn’t say anything about it here cause it’s just a bunch of BS. A tattoo course in 2 weeks? Are you shitting me? OK one guy has potential, the guy that did the Indian portrait. But seriously, this show is a disgrace to the tattoo community. I wanted to watch it just to see what it was about and it’s like…[Read more]
Thanks; can i ask for my free touch up even if there are no “problems”? I have a year to use it. What exactly happens in a touch up?
Touch ups are just when your artist goes over areas again that was missed during the first session. Just filling certain areas that aren’t filled in. Doesn’t take long unless it’s a huge…[Read more]
If you want to get detailed you should go bigger. Have you thought about getting this done on your back? Your back is a large piece of real estate and with everything you want into this piece it would probably look better there.
+1 to a portrait artist.
