replied to the topic My tattoo – what can I turn it into? in the forum Inked Skin 15 years, 10 months ago
Hi
First of all it is not a bad tattoo and from the picture seems to be well executed.
Why would you want to get rid of it? Friendship is an important quality in life and whilst friendships evolve and sometimes end they are a constant equation to our existence.
(Well ok not mine but being a serial killer means that my relationships are very…[Read more]

Hi
It very much depends on the following factors;
The style/theme of the tattoo(s).
The size of the tattoo(s).
How much you have to spend on them ( exceptional artists are not cheap).
Also are you willing to travel to another state or even another country?
Let us know more and I am sure we can make suggestions for possible artists meeting…[Read more]

Hi
The advice I can give is to look very carefully at the copyright contract of any image/photoshoot that you do.
The simple fact is many photographers will own the image and continue to make money from it after you have been paid a fixed fee. Also make sure there are no tie in clauses that state can only work for them for X amt of time unless…[Read more]

Hi
My full backpiece was 30+ hours and was $4k (from sterling to dollars). This did include a generous tip. Also take into account time lost from work travel costs etc.
Something like that on your back you are talking a min of 15 hrs most prob around 20-25 depending on the level of detail.
On the spine it will hurt like a bastard but you can…[Read more]

Hi
Not heard the band but will check them out.
If you had not told me that it was a band image I would have just thought it was a tribal-style spider (flash work).
Nothing wrong with that but wouldn’t have had any serious reaction/thought about it.
The translucent writing will not work brilliantly on a solid black tattoo – you could have light…[Read more]

I think we all just need to give it a chance…
You have to get together and ‘elect’ me as your world chairman.
Chairman Hull has a real nice ring to it.
I will then bring in a simple rule of any infraction = execution.

Hi Skank
The symptoms sound like you have inflamed scar tissue below the skin where the pigment is trapped. It is possible you are having a reaction to the metal content of the pigment.
Try anit-inflammatories and if that does not help I would suggest seeing a dermatologist as may need to laser that tattoo off.

Hi
Yes it is possible to get your tragus tattooed.
However due to the small area the detail of the tattoo is massively limited to basic shapes or filling in. The smaller the tragus the harder it is to get a decent tattoo on there.
You need a very experienced tattoo artist who is used to doing a lot of portrait and/or intricate tattoos -…[Read more]

Hi Kila
Personally I would look at all that skin as serious canvas and would use one arm to have an engine or even the fully bike with extended forks running down my arm with the words on eitherside.
Placement wise I would have them running down and away from you so the person looking can read it.
Get em wreathed in flame or similar and make a…[Read more]

No worries
If it was a blow out it would not have disappeared – prob just ink stain on the skin also very common.
The main thing is do not leave your ink baking in the sun for hours on end and I am sure with sun block you will be fine – don’t put tattoo goo over the sun block though – it will ruin the protective layer.
Have a great party and…[Read more]

replied to the topic Blotchy & Fading in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 10 months ago
Hi
The min you should wait is 4 weeks but better if you wait 6 weeks for a touch-up.
The ink always looks a little more faded after healing than when fresh on because you are viewing it through layers of skin. That said touch-ups are common and nothing to worry about.

Hi sorry for the delay in response.
The ink remains placed in the skin when the scabbing and or peeling has ended. By this time the pigment is locked into the skin and normal clothes/socks rubbing should not pull the ink out.
Sun cream – Ideally you should not expose the tattoo to intensive sunlight ever. We all know this is impossible so best…[Read more]

replied to the topic Advice on pain (heavily tattood) in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 10 months ago
Hi
Not a dr but did take a look at why we feel pain in tattooing.
Tricep area (back of arm muscle) is actually a very tender section of the body for most.
Also there is a large cluster of pain receptors and neural receptors built into the arms as they carry out some massive functionality for the body.
Pain reception can be increased by a high…[Read more]

replied to the topic Not happy with current ink, improval, advice needed in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 10 months ago
Hi
The tattoo is completely fixable by an experienced artist. However you are going to have to seriously bolden the lines and add to it so it makes it a more prominent tattoo.
I would also advise maybe a cover up of the writing as that is going to be difficult to salvage.
Here is a link to hundreds of tattooed crosses it may inspire yours which…[Read more]
