It depends on the design but sounds like what you read is wrong, not the artist.

Yup, usually touch ups aren’t done for at least a month.

Cost varies greatly from artist to artist so it’s hard to tell. Take your time and research a good artist and set an appointment when you’re comfortable. Chances are if you do this as a walk-in it won’t be very good. And if cost is that much of an issue you should wait until you’re not as worried about it. Cheap, discount tattoos aren’t good!

I’ll stand by my post. Is it going to definitely cause problems with healing, no…but why take the chance? If you can’t go a week or two without lifting then you’ve got other issues. I work out all the time, too, and I’m fine from taking an occasional tattoo break.

Take a couple of weeks off, it aint gonna hurt you. If it’ll make you feel better, increase what you do before taking the break.

Actually I am adopted, too. I have a simple version of the adoption symbol tattooed on my chest as well as tattoos representing my biological heritage and my adoptive family. The artist is correct, generally white ink is used an accent color.

Washing 4 times a day at this point is overkill and unnecessary. Morning and night is plenty unless it’s getting dirty.

It happens, may or may not result in ink loss. Let them dry out and fall off naturally, do not pick at them.

Ideally, the designer and the artist would be the same person. You need to spend some time researching good artists in that style and bring them your ideas. If you google enough you should also be able to find some good gambling themed tattoos to give some ideas.
