If you don’t have money, how are you going to get a half sleeve done in the near future? Ink is a luxury b/c bills trump ink every single time…
^^^Not saying you won’t have the money, just saying that you should make sure you will have it by the time comes for your sessions to start

Is anyone else seeing the republican elephant there? lol
Sorry to hear about your bad experience…. try going to a more reputable artist who has work that you really enjoy and see if the artist has any ideas…that’s probably the best place to start since each artist has their own style…

Stormy,
I thought for sure you’d never come back to the forum, thinking we were just looking for someone to bash…. so now I’ll officially say Welcome to the forum!
robin labreche looks to be a much better artist than the one you’ve had your bad experience with, so hopefully she’ll(assuming it’s a she) be able to help you out. Be sure to show…[Read more]

Welcome… you’ll find some people here to just blow sunshine up your ass to make you feel better(maybe it’s bc they have scratchwork?), as well as people who call it like they see it(you’ll figure out who’s who real quick) and you’ll also find some amazing artwork on this forum, as well as some ‘omg wtf were they thinking?!’…[Read more]

nice… i have cloud work on mine with swirls. need to finish it thoI was leaning in the direction of turning ‘the smoke’ into clouds also… I think an artist who does a lot of black&gray work would be able to make it happen. The challenge would be to get the background flowing w/o taking away from the tattoos.

If it’s a half sleeve….what’s on the inside of the arm?
As far as what’s pictured, it looks like the work is well done…so I guess it’s just the actual image I have a problem with (the skulls and the birds neck) but that’s where ‘to each his own’ comes into play. Congrats on the ink!

As long as you like your ink, that’s what counts…..that said, it’s average work at best. The line work is decent but the feathers have almost no detail in them and the shading is somewhat weird…it’s like your artist only had the use of one color of black ink and just changes needle configurations to emphasize shading as opposed to changed the…[Read more]

option A in my opinion…
and LOL, a sleeve in one session…..considering your reference piece looks like it took at LEAST 40 hours, maybe closer to 60, that’s gonna be one LOOOOOOONG session. Seriously tho, expect 6 hour sessions and at 40-60 hours, that’s your answer.
It also doesn’t sound like you have much ink experience just by the nature…[Read more]

A few days old might be a few too many because it’s the first couple that are most critical to healing, but a rule of thumb is doing everything to the piece that you’re not supposed to….soak it in some nice hot water, get some sun, and the like…
I think the problem with just having it filled in is that since it’s off center the new star would…[Read more]

ksmothers – Great piece you have there, be sure to post a pic once it’s healed! I wouldn’t think offhand that the color combo chosen would work so well, but it’s quite nice. Congrats on the work.
