What’s going in those gaps that are between the boarders of the engine and the skin ‘rip’?
I have a feeling those little gaps are going to make or break this piece depending on how they’re handled.

The tattoo looks good to me. I think this is a case where you simply didn’t know what you wanted, gave the artist your EXACT description, and now are having a case of buyer’s remorse due to your bad decision. My tattoo artist says this happens all the time. I chose my idea and am very happy with it, but if it went wrong it would be MY fault, not the artist.

^^^That was spideyfan talking about the bacon tattoo saying that it looked good……it all makes sense to me now!

better than it was before, for sure…. what’s with the circle on the front of your delt? If that’s part of this tattoo I think a perfect circle is a HIGHLY risky proposition, and you’ll notice that some artists stay away from them completely…speaking of which, who’s the artist (I also asked you that in your into thread so just one answer will suffice)

his concept doesn’t seem too complex or hard to execute on; while buyer’s remorse is absolutely possible, I don’t see it here.

It’s interesting that your artist says this happens ALL THE TIME ….. may we please see some pics of YOUR ink? My curiosity is peaking because you think his tattoo looks good. (maybe start it on a new thread as to not hijack this one?)

Now there’s an occupation I wasn’t expecting to see!

Do you talk to them before you introduce them to the oven? lol, I’m not trying to be sick but I honestly think I would if I worked that job…

there’s not much difference though i would imagine the cost of notepads and pencils dont cost 7k and you dont have to buy a big flashy machine not to mention the fact that you wont need one for a while anyway while you hone your drawing skills so you have more opportunity to spread the cost so you would probably save more money this way. so yes if you look at it in that sense it will cost you money either way but you dont always have to pay someone to teach you 🙂

If an artist has to sacrifice their own chair, because they’re a single artist shop or pay for their seat….then time is money… all of us, I’m sure, have the heart to donate 5 or 6 hours. But to create someone who is as good at our own jobs as we are, if we are the SOLE business owner…time is money, and I don’t know any tattoo artists who are world class and in the business of charity…if you know some, tell them to contact me ASAP!

And by the way, real estate matters…if we’re talking 7K in USD in the northeast of the U.S. ,over more than one year of an apprenticeship where my property taxes for owning 1/5 of an acre well exceed 10K(USD)/year is the artist wrong to ask for a little something for their time?

While I’m not so much a fan of the enitre image of the ink itself….it is a beautifully done piece! It’s just not my style, but that’s cool, if we were all the same, life would be pretty dull….. awsome piece, great meaning, i’m assuming X that you’re happy with it…. so that makes it move from an awsome piece to a fuckin’ awsome piece, congrats

^^the first line is just me being a critic, the rest is all you… good job

oh geez… you’re not ready to be doing ink on living creatures yet… stick to practice skin.

As far as cost of a real apprenticeship, I’m currently working with a world class artist who had done one recently and charged $7K for two years, but has since vowed that he’d never do it again.

^^^my artist started as a scratcher until he finally got an apprenticeship, but that was BEFORE practice skin existed. That’s why I’m not leaning into you as hard as some of the others here, but please stop…build up your talents and then try to get an apprenticeship.

It would be good if we could change tattoos like we change clothes but sadly until that day arrives, I guess we have to plan out what we want carefully before committing to it.

Sun Tzu in “The Art of War” once said ” A war is won before it has started” ……. I think that’s enough said, DantheMedic was just being nice about it
