Hi Burnsey
I like the concept idea for your tattoo and to save you a lot of waiting and hassle my advice is to take both pictures to an artist who’s work you like.
They will draw it and tattoo it as part of the service.
Many of the artists on here will not work for free as it is their livelihood and even if they did draw it another artist would…[Read more]

replied to the topic Anybody have any ideas? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 7 months ago
Hi
As a sketch it is not that bad a first concept attempt.
There are a number of things you can do to improve it;
1. Bolden the lines at the sides as they seem quite thin to be supporting the head above.
2. You can include a lot of celtic knot work or more pattern in the in the black space at the top.
3. Maybe add some drop shadowing behind…[Read more]

Hi and welcome
Looking forward to viewing your work.
You know I hear a lot of Americans say this – I think are they just jealous? As you are bigger than them in size 😀

Hi and welcome.
By origami do you have a particular shape in mind or will it be a series of different styles?
I have seen some tattoos with this kind of style the key thing is to find an artist who can do realistic portraits of both human and animal this will make the folded effect less flat and become more 3d in the tattoo.
The other key thing…[Read more]

Hi
Yes sadly I got landed with a series of issues where complete strangers were stating that my writings were ‘theirs’.
I pointed put that the work was my own writing as I have a very distinctive style.
It was written purely as a hobby and that since the work was created under creative commons I had no issue with it been used for personal or…[Read more]

Hi
Personally because of the cultural taboo on the issue and the links that it has with organised crime a lot of Asians are just going to see the ink and that is what they will think no matter how much you deny it.
If you can cope with this then get it – ink is for yourself and nobody else.
However if you have the slightest doubts then I would…[Read more]

replied to the topic does dry needling on a tattoo lighten it? in the forum Tattoo Removal Discussion 14 years, 8 months ago
Hi
In answer no dry needling does not lighten a tattoo in the way you are thinking.
What it can do is leave you with fresh scar tissue that looks paler but leads to uneven, and often to difficult cover ups as the new pigment will not take as well to the damaged skin.
The dry needle is a cheap DIY to surgical removal (cutting out/off). Both…[Read more]

That is one sweet backpiece you have started.
Looking at it I kind of wish that I had more back to add to mine ( I love Japanese theme tattoos).
Keep posting U really like the artist’s style you have chosen.

Hi
Having looked at literally thousands of tattoos for my studies I will step in with some (gentle) advice.
Personally I love text tattoos if done correctly they are awesome and can be easily added to.
The key issues here are;
Placement – I don’t want to be harsh but that area is not a good place for a single text tattoo especially if it is…[Read more]

replied to the topic Chest piece! in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 8 months ago
Hi
I love the concept idea and can see the piece coming together nicely if it is the right artist for you.
My only suggestions would possibly add more detail to the skulls (seams shadowing cracks or even engraving into the skulls).
I would also beef up the roses a bit more with the petals (personal choice though) and have you considered maybe…[Read more]

replied to the topic Do only tools wear Ed Hardy? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 8 months ago
To be fair in my city of Leeds North England hardly see any Ed Hardy gear at all.
The sweaty scrotes that infest my city all tend to have the burberry (upper end) or Fila (peasant class end) tracksuits and caps. You just look into their souless beady eyes and that sweaty, bum fluff covered, top lip rembling over the yellow teeth and think is chav…[Read more]

This is something I get a lot with people.
It usually falls into the 3 main categories;
Those without tattoos who see my ink as a waste of money. (As opposed to the million other wastes 😉 ).
Those who always tell me that they could have or know somebody who would do it at a fraction of the cost of what I have had done. (Where I ask why they…[Read more]

Hi
Avoid it for at least 10 days.
The tattoo is a wound you sweat it creates bacteria soaks into sock and becomes a bandage of grime on new tattoo.
The main concern is catching the scabs on the bike frame, chain, or taking a tumble – whilst usually any tears of scabs can be fixed with a touch up best to avoid until peeled as in a sensitive…[Read more]

Hi
I had a similar issue as been said first thing you do is cut back on any creams or ointments you are using for the tattoo.
Stick with water and non-scented soap and will keep the pores clean.
The antihistamines will help but remember prolonged use may lower your immune system and they become worthless after a few weeks as body ignores the…[Read more]
