The less fatty tissue beneath an area, the more it raises in heat or cold for me. Probably remains that way for 12-24 hours after exposure to unusual hot or cold. I think it’s just a natural reaction to irritation/inflammation, but doesn’t really mean there’s a problem.

It could also be the way the tattoo artist was leaning on you and pinched the ulnar or radial nerve even more, along with tissue trauma. This would make it REALLY hurt.

Bigger is always better when it comes to tattoos. It’s hard to craft a small thing that you don’t want covered up later on. Better to have no tattoos than one you want to be free of.
