just a reaction to the ink. it happens (at least with mine) mostly with black ink and mostly with areas that have been dug in harder/deeper than normal.

EDIT: my first ink i got when i was 17 years ago by a local shop (its now been covered up) still gets raised in the heat sometimes.

there are tons of things u can do with that piece. i think a day of the dead theme would be awesome. or sugal skulls. and whoever told u that thing about equal size on opposite site of arm is trippin. doesnt have to be equal.

perfectly normal. the avg time it takes a tattoo to completely heal is about a month.

can u always feel it? sometimes ink gets raised when its hot, like summertime. its very common.

blowout usually occurs when your artist goes too deep. the only way to fix this is to redo the lines thicker. did you go to a reputable artist? if so, explain the situation and the artist should fix it for free.

looks like a classic case of blowout. i doubt the sunbed caused the blowout but it will fade your ink REAL quick!

yeah i hear ya! but there arent many artists i would give total artistic freedom to. but after looking at his portfolio i had no doubt that he would do an awesome job.

there arent too many chinese dragons around but if youre looking for jaoanese themes there are a bunch. u can try dana helmuth, shige, horiyoshi iii, filip leu, henning jorgensen, bill canales, horitaka, kore flatmo, david fox, grime, etc for great references.

trust me, going out in the sun without sunscreen will help fade it significantly. another thing that will fade it, which i dont recommend, is submerging in water.

unless u were wearing spf clothing, a tshirt wont do a whole lot to protect u from the sun. but its still better than nothing.

nothing is trashy when done right. check out gil elvgren portraits for reference and depending where youre from shane oneil and/or mike devries will do a great job.
