Well, personally I think THAT thing looks plain ugly, but if were done properly (good cross, good lines, realistic blood, et cetera) then it might look okay. Right now it looks like a 10 year old was trying to color it in, and couldn’t quite fit the red marker within the black lines.

That’s a pretty interesting concept you have there, and I see where you’re going with it. Not sure I fully like it though. Is it supposed to be organic (as in plants and stuff) or something else?

Think of it this way… you have a large open wound on you, covered in bandages.
Will it hurt when someone bumps into it? Oh yes.
Will you sweat when out partying? Oh yes.
Does salt (sweat is salty) in open wounds hurt? Oh yes! 😉

I have absolutely no idea. Just spouting what I’ve read in here and around the internet.

I assume it’s because you’ve already created a huge amount of shading and effect with various darkness (assuming, of course, that the shading is GOOD) so that when you add color you’re getting all that effect through as well.

Personally I don’t like the concept of mixing east with west. The western dragons have absolutely nothing to do with the eastern mythology of the Koi Dragon. For one image, choose east or west IMO. Leave the blending be.

As far as I know, the removal process will leave a scar and some discoloring (the skin will turn lighter), forcing you to have to tattoo something else over it. I may well be incredibly wrong though.
