I just watched this video. I must be getting old because it looks like a pissed of clown yelling in a flashing light while his blind buddy can’t figure out where the fucking door is so he punched a hole in the wall. In the meantime, a crocodile is having…[Read more]

He posted last week. This thing is going to be solid black. He got the idea from some prodigy video where the guy had this exact tattoo.

I’m not too into text tattoos but I have to say this is pretty freaking cool.
I agree, forearm would be perfect. It would be cool on the ribs except to read it properly it should be written left to right and I’m not sure you would capitalize on the coolness of it on the ribs. You need to put it in a place that you can flip over to show how cool…[Read more]

This was the demi-god in final fantasy seven. I’m nerdy enough to have played and finished that game but I’m not nerdy enough to remember what they were called. I’m assuming that there is something historical that this was based on- do you know?
Anyway, welcome to the forum. Is this finished now?

How old are you? If you are asking your mom for permission to get a tat you might want to hold off a couple of years. This implies that you might not be at an age to make a permanent decision on your life.
My personal take on script tattoos: A picture says a thousand words, why would you limit yourself to a small set of words, especially in a…[Read more]

I have seen them on guys but I personally think they are pretty fem. I thought about incorporating them into a tat of mine but I just could not do it.
If you like the idea and you think you can make it work than go for it. Just be prepared for the looks from your bros.

replied to the topic Question regarding pricing in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 7 months ago
no, it sounds like a rip off. an hourly rate is based on how much work he/she can do in an hour. It’s the artists job to balance speed with quality but if it takes 3 hours at 100 bucks an hour you pay 300 dollars. Thats the deal and any modifications to that sound shady as hell.

What style of tat are you looking for? IE, are you looking for realistic Skulls and dark stuff, cartoony, wild life, portraits? I think it would be easier if we knew that because a lot of these guys focus on one particular area and are exceptional at it as opposed to just mastering realism.

OK, you asked for honesty. Japanese style tats aren’t really my thing but here’s what I see
On the good side:
The line work looks ok
the colors popThe bad side:
Your tat is very 2 dimensional. When you look at the dragons head, for example, there isn’t anything to make it look like the head is closer to the viewer than the rest of his…[Read more]

I think the idea has a lot of potential. IMHO, I think you need to be carful as this could easily turn into a cheesy post card type photo. You need another ingredient to make this pop. It could be a storm with wind and clouds or a sunset. It could be a ship in the distance…. something. I’m not looking at your artists ideas but from what you put…[Read more]

Your post is about which to get, a humming bird or Hitler. I can’t really help you much because making a style choice based on a man that ordered the execution of over 6 million people is so far out of what I can rationalize that I’m stumped by the question.
I’m openminded enough to understand that you have your freedom to do what ever it is that…[Read more]

The composition is how the tat fits your body. Part of a great tat is how the art flows down the part of your body it’s on. This is a step that a lot of people forget about when they plan their tats.

Start with google. What you are looking for is A) an amazing artist that B) can work in your style and C)is interested in your piece. Take your time, ask anyone you see with a tattoo you like where they got it, visit studios, buy tattoo magazines, go to tattoo shows (there’s one in SF on the 20-22 if you are anywhere near by) basically submerge…[Read more]
