How about a set of balancing scales?
They often are used to represent the balance of things eg truth/injustice etc

Well I tend to have around 6 books on the go at any one time as prefer reading to tv but currently just polished off:
Survivor Chuck Palahniuk (guy who wrote fight club) about a guy who is on a plane that he has hijacked and let everybody off so he can crash and kill himself. He was a lone survivor from a suicide cult that were ‘programmed’ to do…[Read more]

Hi
Possibly get some form of canine (bulldog?) or a flag to fit around the shading.
What sort of style do you prefer because it will have to wrap around the edges of the shading.Take care

Hi
Well it would be a very simple tattoo for an artist to do. My advice is do not go too small to avoid detail blur.
Will make a nice starter piece.

Hi
Why not have the quote running through the inside of glass tubes which enter into a beaker of chemicals.
It would fit into the science side of things quite nicely or you could have an hour glass dissolving with the words etched into the lower glass bulb.

Hi
By backpiece do you mean full, part, or quarter?
What style do you want?
You could have anything from flowers in full bloom changing to wilting petals or the old school gypsy fortune teller with human face changing to a sugar skull.
By change do you mean events, or the flow of time?
Is there a memorable or significant event you want to…[Read more]

Hi
You would be amazed at the number of ppl who have never seen exposed muscle on a human. The detail is great and you do not really need to add direct to the tattoo.
The snapped bone above or below would be an interesting addition.

Hi
Looking at it seems that the artist has gone for a stencil/spray effect which means the edges are not sharp.
It can be re-outlined if you wanted a sharper outline.I would also suggest another few spots on the fill in shading looked a bit spotty from the photos but see how it heals up could be the pic quality/lighting.

Hi
It would make a very nice tattoo. Have you looked at national geographic site?
They have some great tiger shots. It is really a choice on how realistic you want your tiger to be as in photographic portrait to a more cartoon like piece – they all work very well with a good artist.

Hi Ben
Well if you put your own design in it may not have any significant tribal meaning and would purely be art (which there is nothing wrong with).
As for offending there is a divide the art has only really been resurrected quite recently (last 60 years or so prior to this the banning on tattooing meant that it had become almost extinct as an…[Read more]

Hi
I have looked at thousands of religious tattoos and the concept will convert nicely into a tattoo. My only advice is think about how the light is portrayed around the dove as can be difficult to do in a tattoo unless you are happy to go for shading.

Hi Biker
Yes it is possible to use cremation ashes as part of the tattoo. I am not able to go into the detail of how to best achieve this (unlicensed tattooing etc) but you will have to find an artist willing to do it.
There is an increase in infection/rejection of the tattoo so make sure that the ashes are hermetically sealed.

Hi
So you don’t have rings already pierced to attach the hooks onto they just put it through the flesh?
How do you stop tears or is it something they use a lot of hooks when suspending?Just wondering as I am always interested in body mods but more interested in why we do what we do.

Hi Doti
Well looking at the backpiece you have 3 options
1. A full cover up which would require something big I would lean towards floral and japanese myself or you could go for the fantasy style or mythical animal all of which would work.
2. A partial cover up of the snake part at the bottom – which to be honest is a let down in comparison to…[Read more]

replied to the topic White Ink Over Black!? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 5 months ago
Hi
In theory it is possible but it depends on many factors – the main one is how faded is the black ink and how many sessions are you willing to have of white ink.
The outcome is usually not very satisfying as the white often fades anyway within 2-3 years and does not make for a great cover up colour.
That said it can be done over very faded…[Read more]
