Merseyside is ~4 hours from Gillingham and < 2 hours from Sheffield.
If you’re not willing to travel 2 or even 4 hours for the right artist, then quality obviously isn’t nearly as important to you as proximity.

It’s not in his portfolio on their website (I didn’t go to their FB page), which is odd since it’s easily the best tattoo he’s done (presuming he’s done it). I must say that I’m a bit skepticl that it’s his work also after seeing the rest of his work.

Line work is very shaky. The cross looks like flash. The tribal .. well, it looks like any other tribal. But as long as you’re happy …

Using SPF 100+ here, though I only use it on my B&G portrait tat which is rarely exposed to the sun anyway. My legs don’t ever burn and barely even tan so I haven’t really seen the point in using anything on them.

Well, imho, therein lies the problem. Rather than simply booking an app’t to get it done, you’re dancing around it and asking him to sketch something up and so forth. The sketch is typically done the day of your app’t, as the artist really needs to have you there in person to get an idea of how the piece will flow on you – but it’s even more…[Read more]

Can you be more specific? So you emailed/called Pangburn’s shop and said “I’d like to make an appointment for the coverup we discussed.” And he said …. ?
Or have you kept going back and forth with him as you have here?

The fact that the line work looks bad even from such a great distance isn’t a good sign. If you’re happy with it though, that’s all that matters.

The top is indeed crooked but imho, when someone screws up something so simple, I would go to someone else for a touch-up.
Took you 3 years to work up to this?
