Hi
No it is not normal but is usually called a ‘blow out’ this is where the pigment has leaked from the containing hole into the skin around it.
This is usually the result of skin being overworked so that there is a tear in the dermis (skin).
There are other reasons for this incl poor aftercare but would need to see pics.
The artist should be…[Read more]

Hi
Camden wise I liked Evil from the needle but again all depends on your taste and style and waiting requirements.
If you want to wait Valerie (having seen their work) is def worth waiting for and any extra travel. With regards to a white tattoos personally I love them and think they look great.
However they fade rapidly and would need a…[Read more]

Hi Wardy
Is it Dave Banfield in Dewsbury?
Good news is that black pigment is one of the easiest to breakdown and cover over.
The charge is reasonable and just need to have some patience as you will not see any major progress until about midway. The sessions can be quite short as the laser sends a blast into the dermis so don’t need to keep…[Read more]

Hi
As mentioned above do not worry too much about the scabbing it will heal up given time.
Most ink surface heals within 2 weeks but can be as long as 6 weeks before the ink is fully healed.
Key thing is to wait a min of 6 weeks (pref 8 weeks or more) if you do decide to get more some more colour put in.
Any earlier and the pigment just will…[Read more]

replied to the topic How long would this tattoo take to do on my chest? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 6 months ago
Hi
Depends on level of detail and the speed of the artist. Also depends on whether you go for colour or black n shade.
I would recommend saving up for 6 hours worth of work – might get it done in 3-4 but then you got extra in your pocket.
Best way is to speak with the artist prior and get an approx.
Take care

Hi
My advice is wait 6 weeks before your next session to give the skin time to heal both on the surface and beneath.
I would also suggest to the artist that he tries a different mix or settles on a different brand and uses more wash with it rather than mixing 2 pigments – it could be a reaction.
Also how long are you having sessions for? Is the…[Read more]

Hi
In response to your sleeve idea(s) there are 2 ways to consider it.
Some would suggest one theme or themes that compliment each other to produce a sleeve.
Others would argue that it does not really matter as each tattoo would stand as a separate piece and the fact that they cover the whole arm or have filler background does not detract from…[Read more]

Hi
I have met a few women who have had done there and they stated that the front of the vulva really did burn as a tattoo but was bearable if you can withstand a fairly high amount of discomfort.
You are right there is a huge collection of nerves across that part but if you really want it I am sure you will cope.
They did say that waxing 4 days…[Read more]

I really do like the piece you have going on there. I love the detail on the head as well, as these sometimes get lost as focus is on the body but the eye is really nice.
The feathers would look great with just a hint of colour but as you say all personal preference.
I look forward to seeing more pics.

5 mins? Damn I would use numbing cream and really make that one off experience last!
The ink is a wip so there is a lot of things to do with it yet.Overall I am very happy with my ink – I like the style and even with the numerals issue etc I know that I will get it sorted out. People have been constructive and all taken onboard so thank-you for…[Read more]

Hi
The tattoo is possible but you have to remember that tattoos are an artist interpretation of a picture.
Even the most talented artists in the world cannot 100% replicate a photo to the same sharpness as the one shown or interpreted by the naked eye.
This does not mean that the tattoo could not be an incredible piece of art – it can, you just…[Read more]

Very sweet collection.
I have a soft spot for old school and americana – but your artist has really made it pop.
Looking forward to sleeve progression.
How did you find the healing on the solid black shade? Especially on the ribs 😮

replied to the topic silver ink in in dotwork tattoo? in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 14 years, 6 months ago
Hi
I have seen the silver pigments in use and many look good. However I have heard that they can become a little ‘flat’ in terms of less silver and more grey once healed.
I think it really depends on the skin colour and type used – obviously stick with a reputable brand (you don’t want mercury posioning).
Also welcome to the forum!

Hi Gemma
Easiest way to plan a sleeve is to decide on a theme
Pattern – tribal, polynesian etc
Floral/Plant life
Fantasy Light/Dark/Mix
Animal portraiture/Sea Life
Biomech
Human/face Portraiture
Space/universe/stars
Comic/Cupcake/Cartoon
Historical
Then once you have a theme you want to choose maybe 3-5 smaller main elements or 1-2 very…[Read more]

That is a nice style of portrait.
Are you building a theme around it with other ink or leaving as a stand alone piece?

Hi Dipland
Thanks for the comment.
The clock is merely a symbolic reminder to myself that time is short and to try and make a success with what I have.
The hands of the clock were done so that it was ‘smiling’ – it is an in-joke in my family because my grandfather always used to tell us to keep smiling when under pressure.
