Sounds like you have suffered a bit of shock which is quite normal the body is put under a lot of strain and numbness is a common irritation.

I would suggest placing some ice on the effected area for at least 15 – 20 mins and leave for 10 mins and repeat until swelling reduces.

Well my back tattoo touched on the edges of the ribcage and that really hurt.

That said i have to say that the spine especially the lower part spreading into the first part of the kidneys was really painful.

I have another 5 hours on that area to go as well 😮

In the USA you are talking in the $700 to $1000 range I would reckon between 6-8 hours depending on depth of detail.

Very nice concept if you are are in California (and are happy to travel) I know of several artists who could tackle it no problem.

Well def sounds like a blow out of major proportions.
That said with some shading it can normally be fixed.

You really need to get straight back to the artist and tell them to sort it out or get somebody who can. Also do not pay them for the fixing as it does sound like a bit of butchery has gone on.
