I get it. With Miami ink and all the spin-offs, and the general trends that’s emerged the last couple of years, people set a higher standard for tattoos. Getting a kanji symbol or a trampstamp isn’t “cool” anymore. People are amazed by what they concive as great art, details, colours, nyances, all that. A text tattoo is… Simple. And it makes…[Read more]

I feel like a portrait is always a great way to do a memorial tattoo! However, I considered it once, (for my great grandmother) but decided against it. The associations probabuly comes from one of Dan Browns books, which has a lot to do with ambiagrams and the illuminati.

I get it. Not everyone is good with words, or know a lot of qoutes. I doubt he’s getting a line tattooed, just because someone else likes it. You can fall in love with someone elses art – you don’t have to create it yourself.
And not everyone knows where to look. Just because some of us are lucky enough to stumble upon beautiful quotes and lines,…[Read more] -

Well, I’m doing a pretty big piece on my back these days. It goes from a bit below where my brastraps usually start, up to my shoulder. I’m not walking around bra-less :p
However, I’ve mainly just stuck to halterneck-bras, and I keep them a bit loose. The halterneck keeps the bra in place, so you don’t need to have it too tight around your back…[Read more] -

Of course there is!! Think Jim Ward. Piercings pretty much came to the modern society through the gay community in new york.
You should check out Alan Oversbys old work. Maybe you’ll find some inspiration there? ๐
Not all of it is old school, but there is some. The community that surrounded piercings and tattoos in the 70s, didn’t have a whole…[Read more] -

Well well, another norwegian. I’m norwegian too ๐ Welcome.
You won’t learn how the average day for a tattoo artist is like in here, but it’s a good bunch of people with a lot of knowledge. Where in Norway do you live? I know most the studios around here, maybe some of them could help you out if you’re serious about it.
And.. why not just go in…[Read more] -

Hmm.. Well, if I compare the picture, to the real thing, I can say as much; I was shedding some white and blue ink when the picture was taken, and he had just put ointment on it and stuff. They seem to “shine” a bit in the photo, and yeah, I don’t think they look right there either ๐ But they do look a bit different in real-life.
But it’s hard…[Read more] -

I think top of the shoulder, is one of the best placements for a text-tattoo.
Absolutley love those, and are planning one myself. -

It’s inspired by grapic design, and t-shirt designs.
Seems like a lot of tattoo artists these days have a background in graphic design, which is most likely how this style came to be.
Any artist with that background, should be able to help you out.
I have a graphic-design background myself, and the style pretty much looks like a graphic design…[Read more] -

I’m just from a small country…
The government doesn’t really care. Their only concern at the moment, is how they can make tattoo artist’s pay taxes. Art is tax-free. Believe it or not; Strippers don’t pay taxes because they’re performing art. Tattoo artists however do. The scetch is the art, the tattoo is only a copy. Yes, I’m serious. So,…[Read more]

I get stared at on a daily basis. People always react to my tattoos in one way or the other.
Of course, I’m tiny little girl, which apparently makes for a bigger shock-effect… When I cover up my tattoos, people think I’m sixteen years old.
I find it quite amusing, though. I can’t show of my tattoos most of the year, so I love it when I can.…[Read more] -
