Damn, I love the entire piece from top to bottom. I like the proportion as well. It blends together perfectly with the background. The negative space of the Phoenix was done well too. I like it black and white, but color will add more of a major pop to it. +1.

I agree with KnightHawk, it’ll take a significant size to cover up that S.O.B, but it can be done, I’ve seen many upon many coverups of your type.

My first tattoo I got when I was 17. It was my nickname during my football years, and when tribal was popular as ever. I got tribal with my nickname in between. I went on to play ball and realized I wanted to put that stage in my life behind me, so I got it covered with a half sleeve of what I initially always wanted.

The full concept of the tattoo is now complete. We still need to go in and extend the tattoo a little more and touch up Superman, but I’m going to wait until after my vacation in June, so in early July this will be a complete project, but the concept and overall bulk of it is now complete. I feel for your loss. I am so attached to my dog it isn’t even funny. The thought of him being a k-9 isn’t even in the picture anymore, I literally look to him as a family member. Would be devastating to lose him.
