If you want to nitpick, that one leg seems to be sticking out of the middle of the bird’s stomach, so adding another one without some serious consideration won’t necessarily be any better.

The entire bird is just strangely proportioned, and twisted, which creates the unfortunate situation that you find yourself in.
I think I would vote for making the entire thing bigger and adding background to hide or down-play the leg.

You need to find a proper tattoo artist for the job though, else the laser will become your only option. It’s already on the verge of needing that anyway..

My exact thoughts. The fact that the leg looks to be coming straight out of the stomach while the rest of the tattoo is proportioned in a different manor makes for the second leg to share the same fortune and I don’t necc think that’s a good thing. It can be fixed but it absolutely has to be well thought out as it could be tricky to a different artist to figure out the flow and placement of that leg/piece to begin when it comes to making it seem like it actually belongs.

That’s a damn clean piece, man. Easily readable with awesome colors and design. Good work. Congrats!

Man, that crow is SIIICK. Good work! Pretty big skull, too (more black would be badass.) I think this piece could benefit greatly with an eventual background someday since all the pieces are somewhat big in size, not giving off a smooth flow with sizing proportion. The ribbon kind of looks like it’s not attached to anything and is kind of floating but nonetheless, well done piece:cool:

Proportion is way off (the diameter of the crown from the left compared to the right is longer) the roman numeral “cursive m’s” are disoriented from one another (one is widely shaped and the other is closer together with wonky, thick linework) and the dash’s (-) are not symmetrically placed. I do like the side lettering, though, even if it’s shaky in many spots. Anyway, Congrats on your 3rd 🙂

You already know to get the right tattooist, right? 😎 Good..now…it’ll certainly work for sure. What I would do if I was you, I wouldn’t go with the cartoonish color pallet and not make your piece bright so to speak. I’d go with a more muted, darker style to the purple, tan, red, etc and allow that to naturally blend in with your black and white tattoos, which will work since you already have red in your Freddy/Jason piece. So if you were to go color, suggest a more muted ink approach to these colors other than full blown brightness and that should counterbalance the black and white and not stick out so much as it would with brighter color pallets.

That healed beautifully. Maybe a little more highlights and darker, thicker outlines could of been done more-so in the fingers of Freddy’s glove to make it more appealing and give off the dimension of Jason’s mask actually sitting in the glove rather than blending in with the rest of the tattoo but that’s nitpicking. Overall, I love this. Congrats.

Dmitry’s work is awesome, have you talked to him yet?
I would think a few zaps with the laser would be extremely helpful with the end results.
Good luck

He is booked for awhile but we are going to be setting up a consultation here soon. It’s just the matter of gathering things up, prepare and try to make his life easier. I’m not a picky person at all. I’m at the point where I want it done and would accept any professional direction where he thinks fit.

I’m eager to see what he has to say. I’ve sent him pictures awhile back to break the ice and he wants to see how dark it is in person. I would laser it but the piece is scarred so I’m going to go on in and do this thing on the spot once we get our date.

I’ve studied his portfolio for awhile and researched what artistic art-style is up his alley and I think an Alex Ross inspired piece could pull it off.

I like that Bizarro piece because I always wanted to turn it into Bizarro and there’s a lot of darker, deep purples and black in that piece.

Dmitry is already a legend in my eyes and for the quality of work, his hourly rate is highly reasonable. My fiance’ got me a $300 gift certiciate so that should cover about 2 hours of session and I’ll make up the rest.

I’ve put a ton of money already into this that I’m numb. If they were to tell me it would take a million to get this right, I’d do it. That’s how bad I want this out of my head haha. I’m held me back. I should have full sleeves on both my arms by now. Ohwell.

Yeah man. This is the one that haunts me and it sucks I can’t get past this. I should be on other pieces by now but I just can’t let it go. It’s going to be tough. There’s a load of color and it’s a wider area with no free canvas.

He’s going to have to basically draw ontop of it and use his insane highlighting and detailing skills to pack as much in as possible and create his own lines. I wouldn’t do this if I thought he couldn’t do it. I’ve seen him coverup a full sleeve tribal tattoo with THICK tribal and he killed it. It looked nearly impossible. Something I’ve never seen before actually accomplished.

This was the start of that coverup and what he’s capable of:

I’ll post updates. I’m busting to get this done. Kind of scared, but busting.

I winced at this one only because I know what a bad coverup consists of. I should know, I had one and I’m still in the process of getting it all worked out. This Saturday is another session for myself as a matter of fact. I now have a 6th sense establishing when to pull the trigger in a nice piece. Good luck dude, I hope you get it straightened out eventually.

It literally took me a few moments to actually realize there was a cross there. There is absolutley no separation of color or design to make the cross stick out. Instead, I literally had to look away numerous times to focus my eyes on a centerpoint and it was then I realized the cross, which gets lost in utter randomness. It’s not the worst I’ve seen, but compared to quality tattoo’s, this is around a 3.5/10, 3.7 once you figure out the direction you’ve taken. If you paid anywhere over $100 for this, I’d ask $80 of it back.

It looks like the smoke (?) fire (?) engine fuel (?) is a left over marking of a wet band-aid, you know, when the glue and sticky cohevise sticks to your skin and when you rip it off, there’s a film of glue stuck on your skin? That’s what it looks like.

There’s a reason why I set aside hundreds of dollars for just a simple sitting nowadays. This tattoo is one of those reasons.

It was a possibility but I never really considered it past a certain point. Once me and my artist had a talk about fixing it up and whatnot, I decided to take that path instead and get a different feeling of simply getting it fixed the way I want it. I’m on my way to finding closure because I think this is going to look really good for a final result. The enter piece will have purpose, make sense and stand-out altogether. Plus, there’s something about the journey of it all I enjoy, which will make it a better personal piece.
