Too rapid muscle growth with steroids will ruin a tatt, or if you’re too young and have a lot of growing to do can ruin it too.

I get red dots too, shouldn’t be anything to worry about. If you don’t see an obvious decrease in the dots in a week or two, then it might be something to question, but I’m sure it’s fine.

A picture would help a lot, but from the sounds of it, you’ve had a blow-out. This is caused by the needle going too deep into the skin, causing the ink to hit fat-pads, and spread the ink out in an ugly, blurred blotch.

That’s an interesting question, I had the same thing happen on my arm – got blacks, yellows, reds, greens on it, and the red scabbed up heaps.

I agree Arni, it’s because it’s petroleum based, not good for tattoos.

It’s a rough guess, I’m a little stumped myself at how long it would take. It’s not a massive tattoo, but the detail is phenomenal.

Q1 – The lower back won’t get affected much at all.
Q2 – Definitely doable, I love tattoos incorporating ravens and crows, i’ve seen some great ones done.

My artist draws it freehand on the skin, took about 20 minutes last time, which I paid for.
If you’re worried, keep some money spare for it just in case. He might consider drawing to be part of his per hour fee.

I’ve heard about SAD before, and it’s a catch 22 situation you seem to be in. You’d probably be fine getting the highest SPF sunscreen you can find and coating it over your tattoo.
