The point is that if the pic of the old tattoo werent there you wouldnt know. Coverups arent about not being able to see the old tattoo. Its more of a way of tricking your eye into not seeing it. Some coverups can completely hide the original sometimes not.

I would warn against your first tattoo being on the ribs. It will scare you off. Ribs are hardcore.

If you like it thats all that matters. But i must agree that you tied it up prematurely.
You can still add to it, its just going to be darker. There was a Lot of room on the back of the arm left.
