replied to the topic Tipping on much larger tattos…? in the forum Miami Ink – La Ink 15 years, 7 months ago
Ok, Clearly I am an over tipper. I’m paying close to 4K for my sleeve and I am so impressed with the way my artist handles everything that I give him 100 bucks each session. The way I look at it he is going to mark my body for life. The extra 100 bucks I spend per session will be forgotten about next year but if there is anything “extra” available…[Read more]

I got back in on the 2nd of sept. Fun Fun!

I think artistic expression needs to be pushed as far as it can go and I respect him for doing just that. Would I do it myself? Nope, not on your life but I think he plays an important role in the free spirit nature of body modification.
Fro man aesthetic point of view, yeah, ew.

I’m not a biologist or anything but bacteria thrives in warm, moist environments. THe idea that we kill 100% of bacteria when we clean a tattoo is ridiculous and my thought is that when you leave cling wrap on there you promote the fast repopulation of the bacteria that’s left after washing. That’s why you will find more bacteria in a cling…[Read more]

why wait 5 months?I dont know what this is that you have but you want to give it plenty of time to heal so you don’t aggravate the problem more and so you can find out if this is an infection over the ink or something under it.

Went to see Nick yesterday and we worked on the third section of my sleeve. This was a “short” 4 hour session… It was much easier than the gas mask girl. We still have to go back and add detail to her but apparently my skin is very soft so we have to be carful not to over work it. My artist is amazingly on top of this stuff and I could not be…[Read more]

Most kois look unduly fat towards the tail- this one does not! Good work, I like it so far!

replied to the topic How to personalize and spice up a classic design? Ideas welcome in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 15 years, 7 months ago
Ok, I have a few thoughts on this.
1)I think you are trying to do too much here. You need to ask yourself the basic question: Do I want a koi tattoo or not? I think if you want a koi you should find a way to stay closer to the traditional meaning of the tat. You can change things– recently there has been a koi with a skull melting out of the…[Read more]

I don’t understand this tat. Is third eye blind a band or something? is this their logo?

replied to the topic How much pain you think I'm lookin at? in the forum Inked Skin 15 years, 7 months ago
Pain is relative. Walking there after a good nights sleep with a full stomach and the right attitude and it won’t hurt so bad. You are going to get it done either way so it doesn’t matter.
Personally, I like to pretend I am a spy captured and being interrogated. Does it help the pain? No, but it keeps my mind busy.

I agree with the above but I would add anything involving customer interaction would make visible tats harder to accept. So if your job would be a computer based job inside a company rather than going out to customers you might have better luck.

Welcome! This place is pretty cool, it takes some time to get to know the people here but they are, for the most part, really cool.
Put some photos up of your ink.

This photo is too blurry to tell. It looks good in the same way old women look great on soap operas. Put a proper photo up and let us really dig in!
Congrats on the meaningful ink though, it’s a cool idea. Being a leo myself I appreciate the ink

replied to the topic cherry blossom on guy in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 7 months ago
The best part about this to me is that you are trying to prove how masculine your tattoo is by threatening to shove your tree up my ass.
FWIW, your cherry blossoms are NOT feminine but they are misshapen, poorly colored and involved with a generally crappy tattoo, all things I would say to your face.
But then again, you’ll probably ask me to…[Read more]

Clearly, you are a literary nut as this is the longest post I think I have ever seen. I pulled a couple of questions/thoughts out of your post, I will address them in order:
1)No, you are not crazy. The process of getting a tattoo is almost as important as the tattoo itself and therefore it makes sense that as one ends you start looking for the…[Read more]
