NIX is coming up in June, I think. It would be a great place to look thru a ton of portfolio’s all in one place. Along with the others that travel to TO for the convention there should be a lot of local talent. So you would be able to check out the style and the quality of many tattooer’s work, all in an afternoon. Then pick one you like and…[Read more]

You should take a look at the posting that g3n0m just put up with the link to some 3D tattoos. There are a couple of examples there that are a little like the effect that I think you might be going for, with the picture kinda looking like it is below the skin, if that makes sense. Not with the ‘skin rips’ but the openings. Have a look.

An all female shop and a friend like you to take her will probably make her more comfortable for her first one. A nice way for her to start.
So … are you going to warn her about that ‘come back juice’ that they mix into the ink? (You know that’s the reason you almost always go back for more after the first one, right?) 😉

I don’t think that you are going to face too much judgement, but only because this tattoo isn’t easily recognizable as Manson. The style you chose did not allow the artist to capture the “crazy” in his eyes, and that is Manson’s most identifiable feature – along with his forehead tattoo which, for the reason you explained, is not part of this…[Read more]

Very nice and the placement is amazing. I love how the the shape of the tiger’s back (spine) shows up so well that it visually changes the shape of your shoulder (in the 4th picture).
I can’t wait to see it after the next session.

Butt is giving you good advice. If your tattoos were really that good then all of the people who welcomed you to this forum would have remarked on them. The experienced people here know that there is a difference between a tattoo they like and a really well done piece. What I mean is that they can appreciate a really good, really well executed…[Read more]

Have you already asked the artist about filming the sessions?
They may be OK with a few minutes on film, but who wants to be filmed at their job for two days? That is a long time to watch your Ps and Qs – or have anything thoughtlessly said or done preserved forever, and in someone else’s hands.
Also some people are not comfortable at all in…[Read more]

It’s a limited release – that means that in most places it is only there for one or two days. April 23rd is th day in the UK. Here’s the list of theatres. Or do you Brits spell it like the Amercans? If so here’s the list of theaters. Either way – here’s the list:

I would say his work varies, it ranges from very very good to “holy crap that’s fkn good”. His portfolio shows a wide variety of styles, too. I think he will be able to give you a great tattoo.
I’m sure others here can give you a more educated opinion, but I am impressed by his stuff.
And now the waiting.

It is not just that tribal is so outdated, but this is a very bad example as well. They put “breaks” in where they didn’t need to, like that branch pointing right, below the drums, it should be attached. The main piece at the bottom has a weird break in the middle of it for no reason. The branch on the upper left above the drums just starts…[Read more]

My point was that if he is pleased with what he see’s then really it shouldn’t matter. Problem with a skilled eye is most people don’t have one and it takes years to develop. I would imagine that you will be sitting pretty still on your ride home, especially because the area will be SORE. Like you just sandpapered your back. So I don’t think your issue is going to be rubbing, but I bet that you are going to end up with your shirt stuck to it. Don’t panic and don’t pull it off!! Just wait until you get home and…[Read more]
