  • Hi

It depends on how much you want to use of your arm for a sleeve. If you went really dark and giger-style you could prob cover over both tattoos with metal cables through the flesh.

This would make an interesting piece – just an example of the…[Read more]

    Hi

    I like it a lot.

My only constructive criticism (nothing major) is I would personally add a little more shadowing to the trenchcoat.
It is a very interesting piece.
Could you post up again when healed as the cream reflection is making it a bit hard to see.

  • Hi

What you have experienced is called ‘tattoo fever’ the sickness and fatigue is often a symptom of that. The chest pains could be linked to the accelerated stress your body was under.

I often feel ill after a tattoo session with cold-like symptoms and a fever that tends to clear up within 48 hours.

The reason for this is because you have just…[Read more]

    I asked about this.

Most tattoo studios will request that the customer disclose any BBP’s that might put the artist or other third parties at risk.

In the UK knowingly transmitting a BBP such as HIV you can be charged with Grievous Bodily Harm. yes there is a lot of argument about the ‘knowingly’ as premeditation is required.

    The artists I…[Read more]

  • In answer to your question yes laser surgery hurts and in my experience hurts more than a tattoo.

I had a load done on some scar tissue to try and reduce the mount of scarring on my upper arms and back and mostly my legs.

It was like having a hot needle pushing through flesh and the stinging/burning sensation lasts for days afterwards.

    It also…[Read more]

  • Hi

As said above it can be a hassle to get some work done. I must have hit 30 artists about my backpiece before I narrowed it down to 5 possibles because I liked their work.

Of this my orig artist was one and he said he simply could not be bothered.

2 More were as you experienced terrible at keeping appts to discuss etc (and like you i am…[Read more]

    Hi

If you like horses or ponies or whatever get it done. All you have to worry about is that you get a professional artist who can really bring the portrait of the animal to life.

The only part of the tattoo I was not keen on was the black solid fill one but the rest were nice.

Lets be honest why would you get called a fag? Or be picked on for…[Read more]

  • Hi and welcome.

Have you tried visiting a studio that you like? Many artists do struggle to find time to return calls because they seem to endlessly work on clients.

I always find it best to go in person and then you grab some design and discussion time.

Looking forward to sharing your ink and ideas.

  • Just as an update

I was lying on the bed staring at my calf and my wife asks what I am doing? I say ‘I am wondering how sweet a dragon koi would look right there!’

She said ‘Well why don’t you get it done after you finish up your backpiece.’

    Awesome!

    Except….

  • Hi

I really like your third tattoo – I recognise the character from my childhood but fill me in because I cannot remember from where.

As for the tattoo idea I would first of all change the shape of the wall to something more rectangular or no wall at all.

The current shape hit me as a gravestone and if I had not read the post it would have…[Read more]

I have to say this gave me a chuckle because I know what you are saying.

This site also gave me the momentum to finish my thesis – who says the internet is a waste of time 😀

  • Hi

Yes the stuff your friend can lay his hands on is much stronger than that on the commercial market and you could get a tattoo and prob feel nothing but the vibration of the needles.

The problem is that without proper monitoring it can in some lead to breathing difficulties, irregular heartbeat, and loss of sensation as some of the side…[Read more]

  • Hi

Main thing I found is that the itching can be relived by cold packs on them – ice in a towel or soak a towel put in freezer (flat) and then just lay over the area.

Green tea is said to help flush the body of toxins and helps the tattoo fever some get in first 48 hrs.

I also really recommend keeping body fluids esp saliva human or animal away…[Read more]

  • replied to the topic Orange Water Based Tattoo Goo in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 16 years ago

    Hi

I tried it on my back and also the green tattoo goo. The only difference I could tell was the consistency as the orange is water based for sensitive skin and I tended to need a bit more of the orange compared to the green.

Both worked out fine but you do find that the skin can become dry once it wears off which is why I used more of the…[Read more]

  • Hi

It depends on the individual but red is the main culprit for reactions. I had a stack of red in mine and found that it was a slow healing (took 5-6 weeks) and flaked a lot. It also itched a lot more. In contrast to some mine was mild I have seen red toxicity reactions in a serious way.

I found the same with orange but that took about 4 weeks…[Read more]

Thanks to you both electronics is something that always sailed over my head. I can just about wire a plug. 😀

Louis the tattoo looks sweet and I should have underlined that in my first piece. I am open when I am ignorant on a subject – which is why I was asking what it meant.
