To be honest it looks fairly amateurish. I don’t like the linework and the overall design and execution looks cluttered and rushed. Was this free tattoo done at a house or a shop? I’ve seen worse for sure but overall it’s not real good.

I’d be careful with your active lifestyle. Sweat, dirt, friction and stretching aren’t exactly ideal for proper healing of a tattoo. Yeah I’ve got to say that’s a real good starting point, nice job David. I really love the traditional style daggers from Sailor Jerry, etc. Most daggger flash seems to have the sword going through a heart or rose but I like the way you have them wrapped around the top…nicely done.

His judgmental comments are crossing the line, inappropriate and unprofessional. You need to seek out his boss and let them know what’s being said, he should not be allowed to make personal comments like that. Don’t let it go, he’s wrong and needs to hear about it.

I agree not all tattoos have to have meaning but with the TV Ink shows more people feel there has to be a deep story behind every tattoo. I have a couple with meaning and a couple just for the artwork. Personally, I don’t like tribal because to me they lack artistic creativity and beauty. I agree many tattoos are art but I don’t view tribal as art.

Research a GOOD artist in your area, maybe even post some links for us to check out. Then bring your ideas to the artist and trust him/her to turn the ideas into a good tattoo. Where are you from?
