Bring some sucker candy. Some people’s blood sugar drops like a rock (I am one of them) while getting inked and a steady stream of Jollyranchers or something like that helps avoid problems. Since it’s your first tat, better to bring something along just in case you’re on of those people. And it is addictive indeed. I…[Read more] -

I just looked up his shop, most of his tattoos look pretty good so you should be fine. When is your appointment? Try to get rest, eat a good meal, bring some water or juice and have your aftercare products ready for when your done. Not much you can do about pain and nerves but try to mentally block it out. Expect it’s going to hurt but don’t go…[Read more]

Welcome. Where shop are you getting your tattoo at? Have you talked to an artist or made an appointment yet?

I recently bought a .357 magnum revolver which also amazingly enough did not come with fucking instructions. Fortunately I know how to use it or I wouldn’t have bought it due to the damage it can do. Take your scratcher ass starter kit and throw it in a dumpster and seek out an apprenticeship so you don’t have to ask how to execute a tattoo from a…[Read more]

I did it way differently then any of my tattoos before. My artist supplied me with an after care kit from T.A.T. http://blackcreekbotanicals.com/tat/
it contained cleansing wipes and a balm. Day 1 through 4 I used the cleansing wipes to clean the tattoo (I did not wash it at all) 3 times a day and the balm twice a day.…[Read more] -

Here, since you didn’t want my opinion in your other thread I’ll bluntly give it here. Your concept is a hot mess of elements that will not flow well together, especially when you want everything tied to a lame tribal design and tire smoke. Good artists know what will work as a tattoo and what won’t, it’s time to ditch your idea and simplify the…[Read more]

I read the thread and I’ve given my opinions on the shop and suggested others. Good luck.

No offense but if youv’e talked to a bunch of artists and they are either not understanding your ideas or not wanting to do it then maybe the problem lies with your concept and not the artists. A good artist knows what will work or not work and what will translate to a good tattoo. Maybe you should rethink and simplify your concept so all these…[Read more]

Generally with an artist you would pay a deposit for a tattoo appointment and they would draw it up that day for you. So if you decide you don’t want a tattoo you’d lose your deposit but if you don’t like the sketch they can change it. So first, you have to be fully sure you want a tattoo then find a solid artist in that style and set up a…[Read more]

What are you looking to get or what style at least? I can recommend a good shop in Cambridge that does a lot of traditional styled tattos also one in RI and a couple in CT. When you say you hit the same wall what do you mean?

I got tattoed by Shane O’Neill and met Bob Tyrell there when they did a guest spot last year. That place is great, their resident artists are quite good, the list of never ending guest artists is phenomenal and the owner (Gabe) is also real cool. He runs tattonow.com and also puts together websites for many top artists. They also sponsor the…[Read more]
