To me the original seems to flow better then your modifications.
I think the key on this tattoo is to make sure you have the right tattooist for it. You should feel comfortable with them enough to had them a copy of the original and voice your wishes and give them the freedom to make it happen.

It looks cool. May I mention one little item? The right arm seems to get lost against his body. Maybe you can have the tattooist thicken those lines up a bit.

This is a very unique design it might look best wrapped around your arm.

It really looks super. I’m not sure about the colors for me but as long as they work for the owner of that tattoo that’s all that matters. Your line work is definitely improving.
