the fact that it’s not centered is killer… to make that work I believe you’re going to need a very good artist, just because you’re walking into your local tattoo shop doesn’t mean you’re talking to a good artist, remember that. That said, swing by a couple and see what their ideas are…my guess (and I don’t have one artistic bone in my body)…[Read more]

Hi All. I finally got my first tattoo.
Here were my simple ground rules: striking eagle design, small (easily covered by a short sleeved shirt)
I had consultations with 2 artists and they both concurred that because of my size requirement the tattoo could not be extravagantly detailed because of the risk of detail loss…

Sorry for the delay everyone… here I am about 10-12 more hours into it after the last sessions I posted. Just had inner elbow worked on May 10th. Hopefully I resized these well enough…

Love the idea, but if you’re feeling it’s leading to more…please let it lead you to another artist as well.

1) that’s not a half sleeve, it’s just a large arm tattoo
2) I’d have to agree with the above posts saying that the design is pretty damn interesting but the tattoo itself looks poorly executed (but at the same time looks very good for a poorly executed tattoo if that makes any sense?) But I think the fact that your long lost brother was the…[Read more]

Day 1 or 2 is usually flaking – what I’d call excess ink (which is why for my sleeve currently under way I’ll cover my sheets with shitty bath towels the first day or two, sometimes you can get an almost perfect mirror image of your ink on a towel if you sleep on it right)
Scabbing- depends on the: artist, location, and time spent on the…[Read more]

Pretty cool. I think the puzzle pieces are very interesting, what’s on the other side of the arm? The only part I’m not a fan of is the two dice (maybe find a more experienced artist to save them?)

^^in all seriousness if people want to be lied to they should just show their ink to their good friends and immediate family, otherwise…..they just might get the truth 😮

to post a pic you must first have it hosted on a website, such a photbucket …once there you can get the image tag and then post it here. Ideally you should probably resize it so that the first pic measurement is around 500-700 pixels in width, so that it’s not too big when you post it.
(I apologize if any of my terms aren’t correct for our…[Read more]

Yeah man,
like… I get the crest…
But is there something deeper with the clock…or perhaps the eyes inside the tribal?
^^more specifically the clock, and what time does it say and why??? (that’s kinda buggin me, lol) and I like your tribal even though I’m not really a fan of tribals at all, but the color and the eye have got me wondering…[Read more]

it’s not really what WE think, it’s what YOU think. Once it’s on your skin, if any single person can change your opion about it, then you probably shoulda rethought it in the firstplace. You also have to consider your job and possible future careers with ink ‘under your ear’, if that’s no concern of yours then we’re back to my first…[Read more]

i’m no artist, nor will I claim to ever be.
But if I were you the way I would go about an add-on is by first diligently researching artists in your area. When you are taken back by someones’ work that’s a good start, but it’s when you’re truely speachless that you’ve found your artist.
….so find your artist then approach them with the same…[Read more]

oh yeah,
also gotta buy myself some insurance….the bottom half of my sleeve was redone for atmospheric perspective exactly 7 days before these pics were taken, so the WHOLE bottom half of my sleeve is in the new/baby skin phase where it’s looking more blurry than it actually is. Food for thought… more pics to follow..

Hey again,
Had session #4 on thursday. I will post better pics soon but I was bored so I figured I’d shoot some with my cell phone.
Caesar and I decided to have blood and bones rising from the well (hense the red, which will emphasize the flow of the piece). The blood and bones will manifest into demons later on up the arm, it’s a little hard…[Read more]

SHIGE!! If you have any sort of Japanese theme going, I don’t think there’s any question about it! But don’t you have to provide your own translator with him also?
Either way, all of these artists are top-tier I’m sure they would all make an amazing piece…. but I’ll say it again, SHIGE!!, if you have the option.

For a first tattoo I’m pretty surprised by the size/placement. IMO the line work looks good which is pretty much all the tattoo is, so that’s a compliment. (I’m not a huge fan of the font but that’s just personal preferance, to each his own). What’s the significance of it of the saying to you?

Very impressive! Is there still work to be done with the woman’s mouth in particular? To me that seems to be the only part that’s not fitting in perfectly. Just my opinion, but nonetheless it’s an awsome piece.

My opinion would be to keep with the black and grey. I think when you add a touch of color, large tattoos tend to look unfinished and less cohesive.
