Personally I’d just go for a simplified (logo-ish?) portrait of a woman’s upper body, holding a child and breastfeeding. Subtle and fine lines to get some detail, but not full photo-realistic portrait.
Bah, difficult to put into words. I wish I could draw… I’d show you what I mean.

Since the Phoenix is a mythical creature anyway, nobody can really say THIS is how it’s supposed to look. As with all fantasy, I think the depiction is all in the minds of the creators, and for me the Phoenix is not a peacock at all. I see him as more regal, more eagle-like as people tend to explain it. And dark… I think it’s a fantastically…[Read more]

Personally I think face tattoos of tiny things speckled about the face like black cum drops are ugly as sin and can totally destroy a woman’s appearance, but ignoring my personal views on the issue and only coming from one who has worked with customers for almost 20 years I would seriously SERIOUSLY recommend you do NOT get tattooed in the…[Read more]

For my money I say go big or go home.
Get the big heart and vines/thorns on your entire side, from behind your breast and down onto your hip. It’s not a particularly good design IMO but you say you want it so go ahead.
I’ll never understand this whole turning 18 and getting inked right away concept. Most all tattoos done at this age are…[Read more]

I think it will just be a question of your taste and what you choose to blend together. I love B/G myself but I’m also planning some color tattoos and so far I think I’ll just mix them. But I’ll definitely just make the decision with regards to what I’m adding and to what, and to see if they work together side by side.

If you don’t want opinions, don’t ask for them.
Although it could have been better worded so as not to wound the delicate nature of some people, Biker’s reply was spot-on and even attempts to make you A) think about, and B) clarify (for yourself and us as well) what you’re asking. But instead you’ve just gone all hurt and bothered because the…[Read more] -

Of course a tattooist could easily ignore the stencil if so inclined and you not paying attention, but do you really think that’s the reason behind the hideous tats shown in that link? The only reason is horrible craftsmanship and crappy taste, or alcohol.. or both combined ๐

Not necessarily. I’m a wuss when it comes to needles, so I didn’t even look for the first half hour. I mean I saw the stencil on me, but stopped looking once he was working. What I can’t understand is why most of this crap is not somewhat obvious by the stencil.Actually, I think that most of that stuff is freehand work, not stenciled. All the same, the people getting the ink must be drunk out of their skulls not to see the horror being bestowed on them. ๐

As one who has a circle tattoo, I just have to warn you that it will barely EVER be a perfect circle. Such a perfect form distorts extremely easily ๐

Holy f%$# that’s gotta hurt.
And how the hell do you piss (or in fact do anything) with a pin right through your urinary tract?

Actually, with the top to bottom, left to right rule, for me the tattoo reads “Sunset An Is…” at first glance, but of course I’d read it again and see the truth. At least I’d never think it starts with the ‘An’ ๐

This is not the first time people ask this question, and in general the answers are always the same. As long as the area isn’t stretched too fast, there will not be stretch marks, and as long as you’re not bulking up with steroids you will not grow so large as to distort the image.
I guess the real pr…[Read more]

Personally I’d always think the tat was half-done if I saw just one side. I understand the whole concept of the text on both sides, but for me I’d prefer to put it all on the same side.
I agree with the Joker, this all depends on the size. In two lines, you could fit the script vertically in a pretty huge font, so there’s space enough for smaller script.

Well, I’m a relatively pale guy myself, but the point is that the tanning benches are part of the light therapy to help with SAD (Seasonal Affected Depression) and other such mental disorders. Since sun barely shines here for 6-9 months a year, fake sun is needed and that’s most easily found in a tanning bench.
As for wearing long-sleeves in the…[Read more]

I actually find that the Icelandic tattoo scene has too many freaks and too few allround artists. The best guys all do amazingly dark, gothic and evil tats ๐
