Well, what do you mean by ‘fill it up’ ?

You’ll have to have it touched up about once a year or every-other year, since it’s going to take a constant beating all day every day.

My change and redemption piece is a phoenix, both because of it’s symbolism and because of the fact that I’m heavily into fantasy and sci-fi. As Defiance says, I choose to start my ink with the new life, leaving the old one ‘in the ashes’. Yes, the phoenix may well be about as common as a Koi or something, but for this tattoo I do not care 🙂

Not trying to be an ass, mind you. I just don’t have much understanding of the traditional Japanese artwork. You calling them ‘finger’ waves, though, explains a lot.

Don’t exactly know why, but I hate those splashes of water. Is that just how it’s done in traditional japanese?

I say this tattoo is for you and nobody else. Turn it however you want. Just be sure that you understand and accept that for everybody else it will appear ‘wrong’, and they will proably comment on it.
You should, however, find a different artist if he can’t pull it off. There should be no difference for him whether it’s turning north, south, east or west.

Shouldn’t any good artist be able to just work from the disaster in front of him and fix it up? Why does he need the original? I’d expect that means he is little better than your original one.

The server isn’t quite up to the task at the busiest parts of the day, but most of the time it works fine for me.

Humans in general are just getting more and more lazy. Look at text-speak or 1337-5p33k… the only aim seems to be to get words down to as few letters as possible, regardless of whether or not it’s legible/understandable afterward.

That being said, it’s not a big issue really. Whether someone says Tattoo or Tat, or Britney or Brit.. no difference.
