That is some serious old school of tattooing you have there – not seen stuff like that for a long time except on 50’s flash.

I was thinking as a cap why not get a key for the padlock that you have?

Alternatively roses and bloody thorns would also look good and be in line with the style.

The mermaid is possible but you would be looking at a half sleeve/big mermaid piece to cover that up.

Mainly my concern is the size of the tattoo as that would have to be a huge mermaid unless you were willing to expand the tattoo with say waves, fish or a coral throne or such.

Was there any infection? Or did you knock/pick the scab off? (These affect the factors in how long healing takes).
