I agree with the others. You get a tattoo for you. So it should be how you can see it best.
My boyfriend suggested i get mine on my back, but whilst I think they look gorgeous there, I want to see it!!
I don’t know the film? What’s the tree symbolise?

Hey
I like the idea and didnt notice the feather numbers. But I really don’t like the writing – it’s bubble writing, compared to the font that was on the pin. It’s nto that noticeable though, I’ve just spent ages going over fonts for mine.
As long as you’re happy, that’s cool!

The centre of a flame is often blue, why don’t you have some blue in the actual phoenix, and then maybe some green flecks round the outside for contrast?

Heya
I’m also an ink virgin but I’ve been working mine for about a year and when I finish these sodding exams I can actually get it. So i know how important the right stuff it.
If you’d like the release of a bird, why not simply have an empty, antique looking bird cage with an open door? Then add the dove, either flying out, or even above the…[Read more]

How on earth is he being vain compared to people who get a tattoo for pure self adornment?!
I’m not saying tattoos are vain, obviously, but I dont see how getting one to cover something you dont like is therefore vain?
Why don’t you go for the semi permanent make up? Seems a safer option. Although it may be inconvenient if you need to redo it,…[Read more]

That’s not a comment on the tattoo in any way….is that normal?

replied to the topic Literary Tattoos in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 10 months ago
By literary, I meant quotations from books, songs and poetry etc, but those are lovely! Though in a way, literature is just words in a beautiful order!
What fonts did you use on those? And why is 27 your favourite number?

replied to the topic What do you think? Should I get this tattoo? 🙂 in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 15 years, 10 months ago
If you really, really wanted to cut it down, get ‘why are we so afraid to dream?’ across the shoulder.
I’m assuming that’s the crux of it? The morning part is surely the consequence of the fear, and the first part the questioning of it?
I sort of agree with Jlin, I dont think the title is as meaningful.
Lol…maybe it would help if you…[Read more]

Hey
Why don’t you get it across your back, but right at the top, along under your neckline. that way there’s still plenty of room for other things on your back and it’s similar to your original idea
Tell me now, why we’re so scared to dream, that we all lie awake ’till morning?
I think that seriously, that it doesnt quite make much sense as it…[Read more]

I like the idea but I agree with Arnividar – they’re all a bit disconnected and disembodied in that one. I think it would be better to get one horse fully done or connect them in some way.
I don’t think it’s feminine at all. Jeez, before I looked at the image I’d got the impression that you had my little ponies or something from Apostle’s…[Read more]

I think it seems an odd combination – I know it’s not defacing an actual american flag but it is a picture of a defaced one…actually almost seems anti american?

replied to the topic Do you like this tattoo idea? any suggestions? in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 15 years, 10 months ago
Unless you particularly want plants etc, you could always go for a celestial fated sort of them – like solar system sort of stuff. Really ties in the ‘reason’ part and whilst maybe not being particularly masculine definitely isn’t feminine.
Someone on here, I can’t remember who so hopefully someone else can, has an amazing solar system, planets…[Read more]

replied to the topic Start of my Plague themed sleeve! (Photo inclosed) in the forum Inked Skin 15 years, 10 months ago
That’s a really original idea 🙂
It could be really cool if the deserted outside are was venice – that’s were the plague dr mask comes from I think, and they still sell them there amongst all the really pretty carnival masks; its so creepy when you’re there. At one point Venice lost a third of its population to plague
That also give…[Read more]

I agree in a way – I think it’s good to incorporate something else so the words become yours – mine is literally going to be one word incorporated into a bigger picture.
Whilst an image can say a thousand words though, sometimes an image can’t imitate the beautiful placement of a just a few words. 🙂 but that’s an English student point of view…[Read more]

🙂
Those weren’t actually the responses I was expecting – I posted it in terms of small children and exposure to tattooing, the prejudices of people commenting on it who think that the idea’s somehow morally degenerate…which is bizarre really. I think it’s a really cute idea, I loved Henna tattoos when I was little, and I also loved putting…[Read more]

Thanks for replying again.
I know I need to keep it uncovered initially, and can do so for a week, I’m a little concerned about afterwards (tricky place to be getting it done) Will it be ok to cover it up for a night to prevent rubbing from shoes.
During the day i can just wear flip flops or walk about bare foot, but after a week or so I have…[Read more]

Oh 12 point should be fine. I was thinking text had to be a lot bigger than that. It’s going to be a small tattoo anyway, the idea is wearing trainer socks should cover it. I had fun drawing on my skin in the area with a pen last night and I think it should be ok.
Sorry to keep asking but I figure it’s better than starting another topic…
Would…[Read more]
