Check out Steven Christman at Hyperion Tattoo in Buffalo. He’s pretty rad.

Some more tattoos. Still learning.

These are all freshly tattooed, so a lot of the white highlights aren’t showing up.

Didn’t see the show. I’m boycotting. Besides, I’d rather stand in line for the midnight showing of Harry Potter anyway.

I’ve known about this for about a week. There is an industry wide boycott on TLC and their advertisers. I purposely didn’t bring it up because I didn’t want people tuning in. If you tell the not to watch they will invariably turn it on. Put a shiny red button in front of someone and tell them not to push it. They will push that button.
The whole…[Read more]

I get the same thing from people about my dogs. I have English Mastiffs. The first thing I get asked all the time is “How much did you pay for your dog?” now I just answer them with $12 per pound. Stupid people usually shut up when they’re forced to do math.
As for my tattoos; I just tell people that I lost track.

The layout is cool but the drawing is crap. Have that thing re-drawn. Then think about getting it done. Do you have any links to the artists other work?

replied to the topic Blue ? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 8 months ago
Stay out of the sun and don’t go tanning. Whatever color blue you use should look great for years and years. Not only does sunlight and tanning fade colors over time, but your pigment is one layer in the skin above where the ink rests so any tanning you do will immediately effect the color of your tattoo. Blue will look a bit muddy and greenish…[Read more]

Another one from “The Tattoo Generator”. This one is girl-rosary-pencil. Just in case you were wondering, Lapiz is pencil in Spanish.

Cover ups are tricky. Don’t rely on advice from message boards. Go see an artist and have an open mind as far as how it is to be covered up. Make sure you go to an artist who has experience in such matters. If you would like to see some of the possibilities, check out Tim Pangburn’s work. He may be the best on the planet for cover ups.

The lady flinched. It’s hard to keep people still for foot tattoos. I’m thinking that as it ages the lines should blend together a bit. If it doesn’t then I’ll fix it for her when I’m a full fledged tattoo artist.

It’s not my design. It’s a band logo. Not what I would get as a tattoo, but the customer wanted it. He wanted the black to fade out around the edges. I thought it was executed rather well

Easy… Ask for lighter colors like lavender and light blue. There are hundreds of colors out there. Almost anything is possible in terms of color with tattoos.

That samurai is bad ass! And it’s pretty spot on with what the woodblock prints of the 101 samurais that Kuniyoshi did. I’d be totally happy with that tattoo. Looks like they don’t use al ot of color at that shop though.

I’ve personally seen a few tattoos on the palm of the hand. It’s a Terrible idea because of the nature of the skin on your palm. It is near impossible to get any sort of detail and they always look faded out due to the calluses. Not to mention the fact that parts of it will probably fade all together from the constant wear and beating that your…[Read more]

replied to the topic tribal in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 9 months ago
I think it depends on the style of tribal. The solid black thick meaningless stuff isn’t my thing. Polynesian and Maori or even North West Native American, Aztek, and Mayan designs can be detailed, intricate, and beautiful. To each their own though. If you’re going to get a tribal tattoo at least go to an artist that understands it and knows how…[Read more]
