Hi
It depends on how deep the tattooist goes – if they are a bit inexperienced they may overwork the area and really force the ink in. This can cause a really heavy scab and if you pick it the ink will come out leaving a scar behind.
Alternatively if they do not go deep enough you may have little or no scabbing but the ink will peel away with…[Read more]

Hi
To get the detail in would have to be bicep for an arm otherwise unless you got brawny arms will be cramped on the forearm.
I would advise leaving the back free as ink is addictive and you may never know when you want a backpiece.
Otherwise it will make a nice chest panel.
As flash goes it is a nice piece.
Ok as a personal opinion…[Read more]

Hi
The suggestions I would make is changing the key hole to something more baroque (swirling or fancy) style to fit more in with the outer edges.
You could also add some vines to wrap between the outer and inner hearts – maybe have some budding flowers?
Post up when done it will make a very sweet tattoo.

Hi
Check out Evil From The Needle in Camden London (or check out my thread on Camden Tattoo Tour).
Why? Because they have some world class artists, professional and clean studio, and some mad artwork.
There are hundreds of tattoo studios and many great artists it really depends on where you are heading, what style of ink, how much time you have…[Read more]

Hi
No disrespect to your friend but that work is average and the website did not impress me – wearing a wooly hat whilst tattooing is not hygenic as there is blood mist that can travel which is invisible to the naked eye.
Anyhow whilst cheaper I would advise paying more and going to a pro who specialises in fine detail work.
It is on your skin…[Read more]

replied to the topic Are Celtic's Overdone? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 2 months ago
Hi
In answer to your question no Celtic knotwork is far from over done. The simple fact is that many tattoos pass themselves off as knotwork when in fact they are just meaningless flash designs.
Aesthetically there is nothing wrong with that – many look great but true knotwork is superb I have several books on the subject.
They make awesome…[Read more]

Hi
First of all you need to make sure that the tattoo is kept clean and I mean clean. It needs washing at least 3x a day and patting dry.
It sounds like you may have an infection which antibiotics will help with.
Or it could be a rejection of the pigment used – this is more serious and you will need to keep a major eye on it.
Also have you any…[Read more]

How about an hourglass with cutthroat razors forming the outer shape.
Inside the hourglass you could have a silhouette surfing on the dwindling sands of life.
Maybe have it cradled on a skeleton palm. There is the classic clenched fist emblem on a coffin front with the words ‘Every second counts’.
There are the romany style of gypsy women in…[Read more]

replied to the topic Color Ink Question? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 2 months ago
Hi Koi
Again it depends on the quality of the inks used and the pigment shade.
Some colours such as pink, white or yellow may not come through as strongly or last as long but purples, some blues, deep reds etc can work very well.
You are best finding an artist who is experienced in dealing with your skin colour as they will know what works…[Read more]
