replied to the topic How do you become a tattoo artist in america? in the forum US Tattoo and Piercing – Artists and Parlours 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
My advice is keep that 8k go to a studio and offer to work for free for a year and stick at it (using that money you just saved to live on). Whats to stop him/her folding and making off with your cash?
The reason I say that is most artists will not let you pick up a machine for the first year as they want you to get hygiene, set up, and…[Read more]

replied to the topic Why do people say they have sleeve tattoos? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
Personally I gauge a 3/4 sleeve at the mid forearm (starting from the shoulder).
As for the term sleeve you are correct it should really go all the way around to be classed as that – but for me I just look at whether it is great ink or not.
My backpiece is technically not a ‘full’ one either (even though I am guilty of using the term) as I…[Read more]

replied to the topic Will my tattoo go back to the way it was? in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
Use some non-scented lotion 2-3 times a day just enough to cover it and let it breathe. Most tribal often needs a touch up due to the solid fill and the fact that black is so noticable.
It will not be as vibrant as when first done as will have layers of skin over it – that is natural but too early to gauge the full healing of it at 5…[Read more]

replied to the topic What do you think of koi tattoos? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
I love Koi always have and at some point will get one done – once I can talk the missus around to letting me have more ink.
The great bit is that you can actually make them really unique and when you look at them closely that is when the skill of the artist and details really shine through.
In fact when I do get around to Global Domination my…[Read more]

In all seriousness – what is it?
A map? Of where? What does the star represent (other than a pentagram)?
It is neatly done but I am scratching my head.Take Care

replied to the topic What do you guys and girls think of this tattoo? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
I have seen this version several hundred times of varying quality.
In fact I think David Beckham’s angel tattoo must rate within the top 5 of copied tattoos around the world.Whilst it is an awesome piece of ink you should consider getting something which carries your unique style as it is going to be on for life and it is going to be a big…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum.
I have removed your links and would suggest that if you want to advertise either speak with Turbosatan (owner) for advert space or put your link in your signature.
Further spams will result in suspension/banning.

replied to the topic can this be done? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
The short answer is yes it can be done.
The longer answer is it can be done but will not look as good as the orig picture, or you will have to alter the orig to make it into a more tattoo friendly piece.
The reason is that the shadowing and shading there may not translate as well on skin even by a master artist. To get the tattoo to work the…[Read more]

replied to the topic not possile to have straight armband? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
The above are correct the armbands you see are not perfectly straight it is usually an optical illusion from a distance that our eyes fill in the errors because we know it is meant to wrap around. What we see and what we interpret are different things and it will alter when you get close up and really look.
You can have an armband no problem…[Read more]

Hi
The most common picture used for that was the artist Luca Giodano who I think simply called it ‘St Michael’. The tattoo is a modern interpretation of a famous oil painting. The orig is held in Germany and is quite stunning.
I would also recommend this artist if you like religious…[Read more]

replied to the topic Japanese Crane in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Hi
Well it depends on what style you want for it whether it is truely traditional or contemporary/modern – some artists do specialise in Japanese style as their main.
Personal choice really but will look great with crane in flight.

Without being offensive it must have had strong feelings for the guy who forked out a lot of money for some custom ink.
Personally if I saw my ink on somebody and it was identical to my own I would be extremely angry with the wearer and the artist. I paid a lot of money for my ink because it is custom – if it was flash I would expect to pay a lot…[Read more]

Hi Scott
The best thing to do is wait at least 6 weeks so that the area can heal fully. Otherwise you will end up butchering your skin and just leaving a scar.
Most stars can usually be fixed by a pro artist so I would advise starting to consult with artists in your area and check out their portfolio. Alternatively PM me your area and I would be…[Read more]
