replied to the topic Would you consider copyrighting a personal slogan you use on your tattoo BEFORE you p in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 5 months ago
Hi
If it is a poem or other form of copyrighted literature that is original, unique, and copyrighted you can claim damages or a royalties loss.
Not heard of one where it has been tattooed on though – as mentioned ppl will copy or rip anything they see on the net.
I personally would take it as flattering that somebody thought my words were good…[Read more]

Hi
Copyrighting your slogan is actually very simple in most countries especially in Europe and USA and is simple form and a fee to do so.
All a copyright does is acknowledges that you are the holder to the right of the intellectual property of said brand, phrase, logo etc.
However the problem that comes into practice is that you cannot…[Read more]

replied to the topic Your favorite movie of all time! in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 5 months ago
Whilst I love most types of films if I had to choose one as the all time best it would have to be:
Raging Bull.
The amount of work by each actor (especially De Niro) and the cinmephotography etc makes this film watchable no matter how many times I have seen it.
I would have to say one of my favourite comedy/horror would have to be Brain Dead…[Read more]

Hi
If you want to make it interesting then get the killer to etch the tattoo into the cadaver with acid and a sharp instrument and then rub in the tattoo pigment made from bone black – by removing a bone (say a rib) from his still living victim and grinding it up burning it and explaining to them just exactly what it is for. 😀
Damn I should be…[Read more]

I like the work I am not a skull fan but you really got some depth to that piece especially in the nasal and eye sockets.
I agree it fits in better at that size and some nice gray work done as well.

Hi
Just a quick update I finally had my dragon koi coloured in – I will likely need some small touch ups and a bit of darker shading over the numerals where the glass has had shadow breaks put in (although now nearly healed the ink is much darker over the numerals).
However I will get him to run a little more over it and also a bit on the face,…[Read more]

Hi
I am sorry to say it but the image would not translate at all well into a tattoo unless you were prepared to make major concessions, and then it simply would not look like the piece you have quoted.
From my research is a bit about black light /uv ink
UV INK (Black Light Ink)
This type of ink is a relative newcomer to the tattoo scene and…[Read more]

I always say there is a difference between an opinion and making it some personal malicious shit.
There is usually a clear divide and sometimes people need to take a step back and realise that.Personally I quite like a tempered and balanced place as I have upto 50 hours a week of being a sociopathic monster with ppl in my work so it is a change…[Read more]

To step in a moment.
Healthy and fierce debate is allowed and encouraged and I think both sides have got their opinions across in the debate – but lets not let it roll on so it becomes a flame war.
All of my tattoos to date are custom but I still like flash and have many books filled with it from the tunr of the century to present day.
The size…[Read more]

Hi
By messed up do you mean that you have had a tear, infection, or build up of scar tissue?
The reason I ask is that if the lobe has already been damaged you want to leave it at least 8-12 weeks to fully recover before attempting any fresh stretching. Scar tissue is a lot less flexible and elastic than normal skin and can result in a split lobe…[Read more]

Hi
The simple answer is yes lasers can now pretty much remove any type of ink and they have advanced rapidly in the last 5 years alone.
The complex answer as with all surgery there still remains a small risk of scarring and/or discolouration or faint outline.
The risks are way smaller than back in the day but obviously have to go somewhere…[Read more]

Hi
Yes it is faded enough to cover up if you went big and obviously used darker pigments could be covered by pretty much any idea not just tribal. Take a look at pangburn’ s work he is the master of cover ups.
The laser would have no problem in fading that to a shadow or gone depending on how much you want to spend on the sessions.
Have you…[Read more]

Hi
There is a wealth of material as many spirits were seen as malicious in folklore – check out the shapeshifters.
Okami were spirit wolves that hid themselves in a female shape tearing out of the skin to devour their victims.
Could have a geisha style woman transforming into a demon wolf as one example. There were also fire spirits hat would…[Read more]

Hi personally I would leave it alone but if you were to add to it you could add some grey or blue drop shading to the background.
Alternatively can weave some roses or such around the corners at the bottom and create a parchment effect.

Hi
No it is not normal but is usually called a ‘blow out’ this is where the pigment has leaked from the containing hole into the skin around it.
This is usually the result of skin being overworked so that there is a tear in the dermis (skin).
There are other reasons for this incl poor aftercare but would need to see pics.
The artist should be…[Read more]

Hi Wardy
Is it Dave Banfield in Dewsbury?
Good news is that black pigment is one of the easiest to breakdown and cover over.
The charge is reasonable and just need to have some patience as you will not see any major progress until about midway. The sessions can be quite short as the laser sends a blast into the dermis so don’t need to keep…[Read more]

Hi
As mentioned above do not worry too much about the scabbing it will heal up given time.
Most ink surface heals within 2 weeks but can be as long as 6 weeks before the ink is fully healed.
Key thing is to wait a min of 6 weeks (pref 8 weeks or more) if you do decide to get more some more colour put in.
Any earlier and the pigment just will…[Read more]
