Numbing creams don’t work…. at all.
They take too long (half an hour to an hour) to kick in and have stopped working within the hour again.

Very cool. Look forward to seeing that piece. I can’t afford to start any of my pieces (most of which are fantasy based) so I’ll have to settle for watching others getting theirs and cry myself to sleep 😀

Hah! Like it! I just love the colors in your ink when it’s new. The older ones seem to have faded a bit.

Nah, I only have one boring tattoo right now, one that I got as a testpiece to see if I could actually handle the pain 😀
The artist I’ll probably going to for my bigger pieces is JP. He’s excellent in the realism department, be it color or B/G:

Well, knowing what you don’t like is half the victory already 😀
The tattoo trade is, if you boil it down, not seriously diverse in styles. so anything you don’t like makes the list that much smaller 😀
My first preference is Black and Gray and Realism.

Mostly you just count on the artists’ Facebook or Myspace pages, or the tattoo studios’ own webpages.
There is actually a subcategory here for UK Tattooers and US Tattooers, but one for OZ tattooers, so I would suggest you post a question in General chat and ask the people on here if they know any good tattooers in Perth.
Do you know what style…[Read more]

You know… I have a zodiac tattoo. I understand zodiac tattoos. They make sense to me.
But to want to represent 7 family members with 7 zodiac tattoos could never look good and makes no sense to me. Can’t you find something else to signify each of them in a unique way?

My my, aren’t we angry about something completely different and lashing out at me.
The OP asked for opinions on what we thought about the tattoo as it is today. He did not ask “How do you think it will look sometime in the future?”, so my opinion can only be given as asked. Right now, it looks horrible. I can’t possibly see how that could ever…[Read more]

This reminds me of a discussion we had here weeks or months back. Would you call half a half-sleeve (the outer part, which many tattooed people get done, muck like the OP) a quarter sleeve?

Why all of the sudden are people calling a large tattoo a half sleeve?Well, it’s going to be a half-sleeve once it’s finished with the underside. Perhaps that’s where he’s going with it.

It looks like someone with the artistic ability of… myself, was doodling on your arm with a sharpie. And trust me, I wouldn’t want anything drawn by me on paper, let alone on someone’s skin.

replied to the topic How much would this tattoo cost in Japan? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 3 months ago
You find a great artist and tell him (in Japanese, I suppose): I like this picture. Give me a tiger and stuff. He’ll do his thing and you’ll be blown away. Find anything less than a great artist and you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.

I thought your whole problem was rash and poorly made decisions on ink and artist choice. Why are you jumping to repeat it?

Pretentiousness achieved.
Now, although I understand your reasoning for each picture, I see some flaws in your thinking (if it were applied to me, obviously).
First off, although Dostoyevsky did indeed write about Napoleon, Napoleon is no more a beacon for existentialism than I am. He was a power-crazed lunatic tyrant, hell-bent on controlling…[Read more]
