And to add to what the others have said, you will simply bring your artist all your reference material when you sit with him to consult. “I want some of this, with a dash of this, looking something like this” and so forth. He’ll use that source material (and no doubt much of his own source material as well) to draw something up for you. You pay…[Read more]

Welcome to the groups Will.
Please remember that tattooing discussion is forbidden in the public forums. If you want to talk shop with other professionals, talk to TurboSatan and get him to add you to the professionals area ๐
And definitely post up some of your work, but do know that you will get honest feedback…. even if it’s bad.

It’s a cover-up, and probably the best it could ever have been, considering what was there before.

IMO, it could be done cartoony without doing it so preschool. Overall, that drawing as it is looks like it’s drawn by a child. I look very much forward to seeing what the tattoo artist will do with it, but in it’s current state it does not look good at all.
Also, I know you’re not going for much realism here, but the cowboy hat would look SO much…[Read more]

It looks unfinished and unprofessional. Like the doodles many students perform on the corners of their notebook pages. My feelings on tribal aside, that tribal is a relatively bad one.

In a lifetime of constant sun, sure.. why not? You could probably fade it down to almost nothing at all in, say, 50-80 years of being baked.

Well, you’d need a kick-ass artist to do something like that and still manage to cover the old one up, but I don’t see that it definitely can’t be done. Just remember… you get what you pay for. Last time you got something bad.. now you’ll want to spend big bucks on something good ๐

Agree with Buttwheat. Hating the constant movement and the strange zooming, lack of focus and lack-of-light pixelation.

The rubber spatulas you use when baking and such.. don’t know what they’re called. I hear they’re the best medicine for the itch.

Generally people just post “Do you know of good tattoo artists in the XXXX area?” threads, and hope to get a few bites.

That thing is freaky and crazy. ๐
So you’d lean more towards cartoony rather than realistic, and mad rather than calm? That’s good.. gives you a focal point ๐
As for the tattoo artists, we have people here from all around the world. If you’re willing to travel a bit, tell the guys where you live and ask them whether they know of any artists…[Read more]
