What’s the business advantAge of ONLY booking out the next 3 months?
It strikes me as odd coming from an established artist. It lets them plan their life first, then their work. Especially if they have a kid. You know, for school plays, family holidays and shit.
And probably less cancellations, like Buttwheat mentioned.

The missing leg would bother me, but when you joked about your little disabled bird I kinda liked it. It gives him a story.
The photoshop version is a better tattoo, but the little handicapped birdie has a little bit of character. You could make up a story of how he lost his leg?? Maybe he got wounded in an Angry Birds battle. 😉

Some areas hurt a lot more than others. I find that the feeling can range anywhere from something like a cell phone vibrating on you to being carved into with a white hot butter knife. Or worse.
Although yours is on a quite tender area, it was a small and simple design to do. Lots of open space, and no shading, colour or (ouch!!) highlights.…[Read more]

It is funny how the definition of a ‘small’ area changes after the first few tattoos. A lot of people post pics of their first tattoo, all proud of how they sat still – for 20 minutes. (I think my first was under 30 minutes). It looks like there is room for a little something there, more than just filler??
My first inclination is to say to…[Read more]

I was going to say pretty much the same thing. But my first tattoo was small and pretty boring, too. And I still love it. So don’t let us kill your excitement…[Read more]

Yesterday at the gym I worked out so hard and sweated so much that the suntan lotion leaked back out of me and looked like milk running down my arms.
So I rubbed it back in.

She’s 11 hours away now in fort Wayne Indiana. It would more than doublebmy longest distance travelled for art. Aiming for November.
I’d give her my chest.

Thanks Thaela.
It is healing up beautifully. Peeled twice, which is normal for me, but both were the thinnest peels that I have ever had. The skin is pretty thin in that area, so that could be the reason for the thin peels.
I am curious to see if it…[Read more]

Like Sam suggests, make sure that you eat a good meal before your appointment. Do not skip this, if you are very nervous, you may have to force yourself to eat. I used to have to choke the food down before an appointment. These days I’m pretty relaxed before an appointment and can actually enjoy the food. Well rested plus well fed equals less…[Read more]

replied to the topic Are you ever too old for a tattoo? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 11 years, 10 months ago
Like Sam said, that will depend on your definition of old. I think that when you are very very old the skin gets very thin and that makes it harder to tattoo. But I have seen pics of some very elderly people, like in their late 80s or 90s, smiling as they get their first tattoo.
I’m actually kind of glad that I didn’t start until my 40s. By…[Read more]

Did your tattoo shrink after you got home? Because it is not near the dreaded “ditch”. The area that I was referring to is the crease on the inside of your elbow. (The back of the knee would also be a “bitch” … oops … I mean “ditch”.)
If you google “tattoo pain scale” or “tattoo pain map” images you can get an idea of the differences…[Read more]

Welcome. It looks like you have a decent start there, and many options for the rest of your arm. I’m going to assume that at least some of the shaky lines are from you moving around.
If you can’t sit still to have a spot like that done then you better learn to suck it up, buttercup, before you continue. Wait until you get to some of the more…[Read more]
