Oh yes, some background is definitely needed, but perhaps all you need is a nice drop-shadow to give it depth. I’m trying to picture some ‘stuff’ as background and I don’t see anything particularly interesting.

There is a good reason why reputable tattoo artists refuse to do face tattoos on people unless they are already very heavily covered. Face tattoos are for freaks and criminals, and even though people are slowly but surely getting used to ‘regular’ tattoos, the face tattoos are going to take a few hundred years more to get through.

This actually raises an interesting question. How quickly and how much do ring tattoos fade? I mean, you get married and you get divorced and then you’re stuck with a ring tattoo which is rather difficult to turn into anything other than another ring tattoo. But if it fades enough, does it actually disappear?

Did you borrow Akasha’s design from somewhere, or is it a fabrication of the artist? I really like her.

I like it. I love Western Dragons, but have had REAL trouble finding good reference material for a tattoo. It’s a tad too lizard’y for my personal tastes though.

Aloe Vera has healing properties, but I believe it’s also an anti-septic, which would definitely be a big no-no.
