I like the bird also, but not crazy about the skulls. It all looks well done though. Congrats. 🙂

Well, the artist is going to use whatever he/she normally uses. Any reputable artist will use a quality ink so no worries there.

Welcome. 🙂 You have plenty of good artists up in the northern states so you shouldn’t have any problem getting a great first tattoo.

I’m with buttwheat.
Go to a truly good artist and you won’t have to worry about whether or not he or she is going to screw it up. We can help you if you tell us where you live and/or post links to the online portfolios of the artists you are considering.
I do somewhat regret my 1st tat, but only because it now limits what else I put there. 😀

Personally, I would never use olive oil on a new tattoo. However, olive oil is an all-natural alternative to using Aquaphor or other ointments and isn’t as crazy as it sounds. You should only have used this for 2-3 days though, just as you would do with Aquaphor and other ointments. Now as for the Palmer’s stuff, the fact that it contains…[Read more]

Well Mjölnir may be used by Neo-Nazis and so forth, but it certainly has nothing to do with its true origins. It’s also a symbol of Ásatrú (a religion). The iron cross represents strength, but Neo-Nazis borrowed that one too. PItbulls are used a white supremacy symbol also. If a guy came in with a swastika tattoo and wanted to add Mj…[Read more]

I just select spots as I go. I’m hoping to keep B&G and color separated by limb though. I recently contacted an artists and told him I wanted a piece on my upper arm or calf. He replied: “Upper arm is fine.” Well that settled that. :p

Oh so how did you find out it’s a nickel allergy? Ive never heard if such a thing. It started 1-2 months ago. I’ve found most artists to be a bit flaky when it comes to communication, but I can’t say I ever get used to it. Anyway, he did message me this morning and appointment is still on … he said he could only get a signal in one spot up there.

The original sketch is indeed bad, but the tattoo is worse. He made “chocolate chips” where there should have only been light shading and the line work is still very shaky. Now I’m wondering how anyone could look at that original sketch and think “Wow! I need to get that on me!” 😡

Poor line work, terrible shading, and I notice that the “artist” couldn’t even shave your arm properly before getting started. p.s. My wife (sitting about 10 ft behind me) looked up from her work and askled me “Why did he get a tattoo of a chocolate chip cookie?”
