replied to the topic Laser removal over a mole? in the forum Tattoo Removal Discussion 15 years, 8 months ago
Hi
I am not a Dr. but I am aware that a laser can alter the genetic structure of a mole and there is a risk of triggering a change in the mole from benign to something possibly nastier.
The light from a laser has a spectrum equiv to UV which can be risky on moles as it breaks down all cells in the area not just the pigment of the…[Read more]

replied to the topic Explanation from a medical viewpoint, please? And also sauna after tattoo question in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 15 years, 8 months ago
Hi
The reason that you should keep out of the sun with tattoos is because of the effect that radiation has upon the skin cells and pigmentation of your own skin and that of the tattoo pigment.
The medical stuff:
Skin has a natural forming molecule that absorbs light. Trans-urocanic acid (t-UA). It covers your body.
This absorbs light and…[Read more]

Hi Ben
Check out my album the Lion of Judah was done by Zombie Tattoos in LA John was an awesome guy and he even opened up on his day off (I was flying the next day) at no extra cost.
They do specialise in zombie tats but they can turn their hand to pretty much anything. For Japanese I would poss suggest Colin (John is awesome at portrait…[Read more]

replied to the topic Can colour ink cover black ink? in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 15 years, 9 months ago
Hi
You would have to hit the writing with a laser to lighten the colour and this could be very expensive.
Try and incorporate the new tattoo with the old one, perhaps have some highlights added to the writing?Otherwise as mentioned usually only a darker shade of, or same colour pigment will cover black.

Hi
That is some great artwork – I really like surreal concept stuff.
As for a tattoo it will certainly make a great base for a piece.The things that come to mind are;
Sizing in order to do the piece justice you are going to have to go quite large or lose a lot of the detail.
The figure would have to be enlarged slightly so that the details do…[Read more]

Hi
In answer to your question yes a solid black band should cover that up no problem.
I was not sure what style you wanted but if you get stuck for design let me know I will try and find examples off the net.

That is a nice use of double font.
How long did it take?Kudos for getting it done – I always get slapped down by my mates over the goonie film argument, but glad to see that you went ahead with what you wanted.

Hi
I remember this film purely because I was 8 years old and it was the only time my mean bastard of a father ever took me anywhere to celebrate my birthday.
The cinema then was a major deal (I never could afford to go) and I have to say that this film sucked so hard I was convinced the director must have had training in a top brothel prior to…[Read more]

replied to the topic What are these tattoo's called: in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 15 years, 9 months ago
Hi
They are a cultural thing believed to ward off evil or evil spirits and are always done in pairs.
Usually on the shoulders or upper body. However I have seen them on hands and buttocks before now.
The number of petals may vary from tribe to tribe but are seen by all as a protective totem.Take care

Hi
As mentioned you need to see a Dr asap on that as could be a cyst, boil, or hernia tear of the lower abdomen.
Allergic reaction is possible but they do not tend to react quite as bad as that and the pain would suggest that there is serious pressure behind the skin which is not a good thing.
Go to a specialist get a biopsy if necessary and…[Read more]

Hi
No it will not effect anything unless the gain/loss is massively rapid through using steroids, or growth hormones, or turning big green and ugly.
The skin is an organ and has a lot of flexibility in it so that it cope with most changes.

Hi
Best to get a cover-up or laser removal as the skin coloured tattoos will struggle with such a dark pigment.
The other downside is that your skin constantly changes colour with regards to heat, age, sun etc and the tattoo will not change in the same way.
I would suggest looking at the tattoo and decide if it is salvagable with a rework – as…[Read more]

Hi Lee
To be blunt to do either tattoo justice and so that it does not become a blurry mess the side of your hand is simply not going to be big or wide enough.
To fit it on will make it look like a stick figure or will simply blur into a blob with no detail.
You need a much bigger area of the body chest/arm/leg.
For a simple design as shown in…[Read more]

replied to the topic Help! V. worried! Question about Aftercare/ Touch-Ups, in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 15 years, 9 months ago
Hi
As Gsouder has stated the tattoo has been poorly executed and the ink is falling out.
This is due to either the skin being overworked so that the pigment does not hold and has been flushed out, or the artist did not go deep enough.
However based on the fill from the rest seems that the tattoo was overworked and they simply tried to pack too…[Read more]

The tattoo will fade and blur with age and can do so quicker if exposed to sunlight a lot.
Your wrists do not really expand so no probs with stretching there but you have to look at employment issues. Many employers do not like visible ink.
Also what seems a great idea at 16 may not seem so great in your 20’s and 30’s onwards.
Give it plenty of…[Read more]

Hi
Just to clarify the point I am referring to the legal law reference as to the term ‘immoral’ – that is a legal reference they use not a personal stance I was taking.
As reference for example if you scatter ashes in the UK you need a license from the crematorium that it has been according to the regs. Some in the UK cities even go as far as…[Read more]
