Sorry to hear that. 🙁
Finding a decent tattooist is really hard which is why best to stick to ones you have seen a mass of portfolio work or others wearing their tattoos.
I understand what you mean though – my first tattooist is moving towards semi-retirement and is a cranky bastard at the best of times but he just did not seem passionate about…[Read more]

Hi Nik
Sorry dude been having a real bad day and frankly I think I am gonna have to slap my brother in laws around until I get tired or break a few knuckles.
Anyhow the tattoo will be a seriously powerful piece in symbolism.
I did some research into the phoenix mythos and they are always considered to be the all seeing rebirth spirit. As each…[Read more]

Hi
Yes I have a few suggestions about the tattoo.
Excuse my if I seem blunt – it is not to be nasty but I just want you to get the best you can from it.
First of all if you have a circle around it you are limiting the number of names that you could fit into the shape of the tattoo.
Secondly how do you intend to inscribe the names? Directly…[Read more]

replied to the topic font suggestions? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 9 months ago
I cannot really advise on what font as that is personal taste.
What I will say is go big and well spaced – it will stop the tattoo from blurring beyond recognition with age.
If you are feeling brave 😉 the collar bones and across the top of the chest is a powerful place to have such a bold statement.
I am really looking forward to seeing it as…[Read more]

Hi
The sun rays and clouds will work as all plants need these for life (light and water)
Why not go for the roses being carved into the wood of the cross and add a hint of colour to them like drops of blood falling down the petals on to the base of the cross?
If you have the roses on eitherside I would possibly suggest having them wrap around…[Read more]

Hi
It is not so bad really and you could do a few things with it to alter it slightly;
You could add a circle outline and fill it in so is more of a trad ying/yang.
You could add a border at the top and bottom leaving the sides open.
Add an ivy effect wrapping around the 69 or forming a twisting border.
Colour in the centre so it looks more…[Read more]

replied to the topic New tattoo, question about sweating in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 16 years, 9 months ago
Hi
The last thing you want over a fresh wound is some bacteria ridden, sweaty shoulder pads where you are gonna get bashed on it every opportunity if they know you have a fresh tattoo.
Besides the increased risk of infection you can tear the scabs off and lift ink if it rubs.
Leave the hockey for 2 weeks and let it heal.

Hi
I have used it leave 3-4 days so that the wound can seal the ink in fully when it starts to scab or peel then it is time to moisturise.

Hi
Arnivader I wrote a section on why tattoos hurt in my ebook check it out ofr the science bit.
That said any area that has a large cluster of pain receptors (spinal column, base of spine) will hurt a lot more than those areas with less clusters.
Also places close to the bone hurt more than those with padded areas.
The main high pain spots…[Read more]

Hi
That is going to be one sweet looking backpiece and he covered a lot of ground in 6 hrs.
You will need somebody to apply the cream no way round it really.I also heard that silk shirts/vests are ideal for those size tattoos whilst it is healing.
Keep posting as you get done it is gonna look great.

Hi
You should be ok as it is a low strength but you have to remember that whilst on antibiotics your immune system is much more susceptible to bacterial infections.
You will have to take extra care of the tattoo and make sure that you are in general good health.
If you have any bouts of dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath or bleeding from…[Read more]

Hi
If you do the cross big enough there are several variations on how you could have the roses as part of the tattoo;
As already mentioned you could have the roses within the inside of the cross maybe intertwined and the petals holding the initials.
You could have the roses laying at the foot of the cross so that roses form an X with their…[Read more]

replied to the topic Is a Henna tattoo a good idea first before a real tattoo? in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 16 years, 9 months ago
Hi
The stuff that burns an outline is black henna which isn’t actually henna at all.
Getting a temporary tattoo will give you an idea if it is right for you – but the quality and detail will not be as tight as that of a professional tattoo.
If you can find a safe henna artist try it out and see how you feel about it – sensible to see if you…[Read more]

Hi
It really depends some artists like a lot of images so they can be 100% sure that what they draw is something that you will be happy with.
Yours is an unusual piece and human anatomy can eb difficult to get right so the tattooist maybe being cautious.
That said they they might be utter shite and cannot draw for toffee and just want to tarce…[Read more]
