I’ve seen one of the red stapler. That’s about it. You could do a memorial to the copier or you could require your wife to get tattooed with 7 pieces of flair. Or the coffee mug that Lumberg is always drinking out of. So many possibilities.

Hey, since you’re a Josh Woods fan I thought I’d tell you. We have the most bizarre painting I think he ever did hanging on our shop wall. I think he painted it when he was first tattooing for the owner of my shop. It’s a coffin with a vagina in it with a bunch of bloody sperm around it. I’ll send you a picture when I get a chance. It is weird.

I’ve drawn things six or seven times sometimes. I’ve spent hours working on designs for clients before they’ve even seen the final draft. I have also used designs that they bring to me and there is just a bit of tracing to do. I prefer when someone comes to me with a solid idea and says to run with it and trusts me to come up with my best solution…[Read more]

I totally understand you. I’m a tattoo artist. I love it when people show off my/their tattoos. I have seen a few people regret their visible tattoos not long after getting them for many different reasons. Just trying to keep you informed.

I’ll tell you what I’ve heard from a lot of tattoo artists.
Tattoos on the hand and neck have to be earned. They are what you get when you run out of room elsewhere on the body.
Most tattoo artists won’t tattoo someone’s hands unless they’re at least fully sleeved. Without being heavily tattooed already you don’t know what it’s like to be…[Read more]

Don’t worry, it won’t stretch. Mo matter how much the rest of your body grows, your forearm with the tattoo will remain the same size. So don’t try to get big forearms, because the tattooed side will look odd in comparison to the big one.And don’t worry about the weight thing either. Most people don’t get any fatter after…[Read more]

Walk in, kinda fun, but I didn’t have much time to plan.

This was done on our shop manager. You should see the rest of her.

We have commercial vinyl tile in our shop. It’s ok but it definitely shows wear after some time. Ceramic tile is way tougher. Besides if you clean it properly every night like you’re supposed to there should never be a problem.

Ultimately, the people that work at the shop will be the important part. If you are a bunch of good guys and great artists, you’ll have an awesome shop.

The shops that I like are all well maintained. Fresh paint, clean, well kept floors, framed artwork on the walls, warm colors. The shop where I work is all cool colors and it feels kind of like a doctor’s office sometimes. It is super clean though. I like shops where it looks like some time and money went into building it. I prefer ceramic tiles…[Read more]

Totally saveable. I think this tattoo could pan out very well depending on shading, color choice, and saturation. I think the eyes look fine. It’ll look correct when he gets it shaded.

Here it is!

Here is an Orc I had put on the other side of my leg by Joel Menter. Sorry for the bad picture.

Eventually I plan on having my right leg covered in small to medium sized LOTR tattoos done by artists I admire and respect.

I would be more interested in hearing somebody try to explain that it isn’t art. They would be wrong, but it would be interesting.

Oliver Peck is pretty famous all by himself (at least in the American Traditional circles.) He is pretty fantastic in his style and very well respected. The other two? Navarro is a joke and Chris Nuniez or however you spell it is an average tattooist at best. I’ll watch it for the tattoos and try to pick up any tricks I can by watching the guys…[Read more]
