I have a cool velveteen dog that is so old that it is stuffed with straw. Many times I’ve thought about trying to get picture of it tattooed, but could never figure out how to come up with a good tattoo-able image for it.
Recently my brother found out I had an appointment coming up and he suggested a “a teddy bear with one button eye, giving…[Read more]

Another place to look is the ‘Tattoo Artists’ section of the Tattoo Art Project website. It lists some of the best realism artists in the world. The problem is they are only sorted by country – so unless you recognize a name you would have to follow the link to each artist to see where in the US they are located.

Don’t hesitate to travel in order to get a great tattoo from the right artist. One of my tattoos came with two trips to California. Totally worth it. And I’ll be travelling down there to see another artist this fall.
Check out the Brag List in peterpoose’s signature. Everyone on that list is worth travelling to.

My peacock’s tail still grows hair just fine. And the tattoo on the other thigh, too. Dammit.

As long as you wait until it has completely peeled and the skin looks healed, you should be ok. (Peeling gone, swelling gone, no bumps.)
I have tattoos on the outside of both thighs (quite extensive on one side, took three sittings) and…[Read more]

Well, I found this idea a little too late. I know your artist is already drawing a kickass design up for you, but peacocks are beautiful, and there are a ton of them in India.
So I thought I’d throw it out there.

replied to the topic Fellow dry healers? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 12 years, 11 months ago
I was told by an artist recently to dry heal until it started to peel, then lotion 3x a day. So that was no ointment or lotion for the first 4 days. I didn’t enjoy that HOLY CRAP IT’S DRY feeling, but it really did peel faster and healed up beautifully. It was a two sitting tattoo, so I did it that way both times.
But I tend to do what each…[Read more]

I think that I ended up changing something in the “settings” to not have to do that anymore. But I don’t remember what it was. I just tried changing different settings until it worked.
