But I have to agree with Butt, that is a whole lot of precious skin taken up by a bad drawing. And you put it where the one person who does appreciate it the most can never see it. You.

If any of the colour does “fall out”, just go back to the artist who did it. It is not uncommon for a tattoo to need a touch-up and the touch-up appointment should be free.

If you tell him you are planning a sleeve when you book the appointment, you can get him starting to think about it while he’s drawing up the octopus. Then while you are getting the octopus done you and the artist can throw some ideas around for the rest.

To add to my earlier comment, there is nothing wrong with being a nerd or wanting a nerd tattoo. I work in IT and I think of my division of the company as the Nerd Factory, so I know some pretty cool nerds.
