im lucky i have never had any problems with red ink but i know many people who have .
one of the problems is that even though you have some red in already and never had any problems with it you could the second time around because every brand of tattoo ink could have different ingredients in which could cause a flair up.

your tattoo didnt want to be covered up again it needed as much fresh air to it as possible.
looks to me because you have kept it covered up its gone soggy and pulled some of the colour out and slowed down your healing time, although i can not fully tell because of the picture .
bepanthen is fine to use.

KH is always putting the world to right on facebook 😀 and i wouldnt suggest you let him lick you LOL

id actually add dotted shading around the stars and leave the center plain , maybe add some tiny solid black ones
