AdamWest is likely right, but it’s also possible that a plastic-based ink was used. A plastic-based white was used on my wife’s ankle tat and you can feel that the white sections are slightly raised.

Mythbusters tested this in an episode. They did not get any reaction with normal tattoo-ink, so they added extra iron to it and tatooed pig skin. Still no reaction. So they concluded that is is a myth. And the mythbusters are always right, right?Actually, they did find a slight reaction. 🙂

Yes, Bepanthen is commonly recommended for new ink in Europe.
The active ingredient in Aquaphor is petrolatum, which has been banned in Europe. I forgot about that, but then recalled that there was actually a guy on the forums several months ago who mentioned that. He was also asking if someone in the US would ship him a ton of Aquaphor so he…[Read more]

I haven’t had to go for an MRI, but the concerns about MRIs and tattoos are pretty well known.

MRI complications. Rarely, tattoos or permanent makeup may cause swelling or burning in the affected areas during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams. In some cases — such as when a person with permanent eyeliner has an MRI of the eye — tat…[Read more] -

Most here will criticize the use of text and suggest you stick to images, but in the end, it’s your tattoo.

😮 i didn’t know there would be just art classes about, im defiantly going to look in to that! Some artists like this one will hold classes, or you may find some small, local art schools also. Your best bet might be any type of community centers in the area.

I think there are better books out there for learning how to draw. Better still, you should really enroll in some classes. Books are fine once you have the basics down, but if you’re starting from nothing, personal instruction will be more beneficial. They don’t have to be college classes (I saw your post about that). There are plenty of…[Read more]

If it was as different as you say it is, then you wouldn’t need a petition. This has nothing to do with intolerance and everything to do with professionalism. Business owners have a right to do what is in the best interest of their business. If you can’t take responsibility for your own decisions, that’s your problem, not theirs.

Well I give you credit for standing up for something you believe in, but must say that I stand with Cornishtiger on this issue. I plan on being pretty well covered in tats in the coming years, but I know that as a worker in the white collar world, there are certain areas that I can’t get tats. It doesn’t matter much whether I work for myself or…[Read more]
