I didn’t really think about it until you mentioned it but I definitely see what you mean. You were right.

I’m not sure, I think most animal portraits I see are just the head/face area for the detail.

I’m not really loving it either, definitely leaves a lot to be desired with lack of detail and lazy shading and linework.

Believe it or not, some aspiring artists actually travel to a good shop for apprenticeship rather than just base everything on 2 local shops. Besides, I’m not sure if technical stuff is allowed here in the first place. I’ll stop there, good luck to you.

You’ve been tattooing for 12 years and can’t answer these questions yourself…do everyone a favor and throw everything out and seek a professional apprenticeship.

In my biased opinion the perfect place for those lyrics is on the band’s liner notes or on a piece of paper in your pocket, not tattooed on your body. If you insist on this wonderful (lame) idea then go ribs.

That’s some damn fine work right there.

Looks pretty good, I like the traditional designs. I’ve actually thought about getting a dagger/rose in black and grey but everytime I see a dagger piece in color I have second thoughts. To me I prefer the dagger a little less rounded and more tapered and pointy but this looks good. Congrats.
