Actually I don’t know for sure either, same with me it’s something I’ve always heard and followed. I’m assuming certain ingredients aren’t good for an unhealed tattoo in some way.

Bacitracin isn’t usually recommended for tattoo healing. I used Tattoo Goo on my first and didn’t like it, I needed a touch up and the artist said not to use it because it clogs pores. Other people love the stuff. I also like to use 100% pure shea butter for healing and afterwards too.

You don’t have to stop your life after getting a tattoo just be careful, especially for a couple of days until it starts to settle in and heal a little. Aquaphor is made by Eucerin, and like most everything else I’ve heard people have had mixed results with Bepanthen. I also like the pure 100% shea butter on my healing and after healied tattoos.

Don’t have facbook, Chris Adamek is pretty well known in the east and he is a fantastic artist. Where abouts are you from?

The scars also need to be a at least few years old. Talk to any potential artist first, some wont even do it.
